    Ahsoka - SPOILERS

I'd forgotten all about The Acolyte. It was only as I was reading this thread that I realised I never finished watching it.

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Star Wars is always full of violent death. Skeleton Crew has had several already - didn't the kids blast some pirate fighters already? But this was cold-blooded and deliberate. It wouldn't have been out of place in Andor, for instance, but from a SW character who's not an outright villain it...

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

Apropos of not much concrete, does anyone else get the impression that Jude Law had the time of his life in this role?

Spoilers SW: Skeleton crew discussion thread

These security droids were better shots than Stormtroopers. Better shots than most Rebels too. I'll admit I was a bit shocked by Jod's ruthlessness with Brutus. Not for the character, but for what so far has largely been a kid's show.

D&D 5E (2024) Goblins and Orcs Not Being Green

In my mind goblins are usually the colour of mud. Or else blue, like in the "Jig the Goblin" books.

And as we learned in episode 5, the ultimate price for a pirate is loot.

    Best Tolkien Art

I thought I recognised the artist's style, so I looked him up. I was mistaken, but apparently Jimmy Cauty was not just an artist, but also in bands such as the KLF and Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction.

Spoilers TV Shows with Great Endings

Part of it, I think, is to highlight how close the resemblance is between him and Raylan. If Raylan took one step closer to the line, you know he'd end up like Boyd. Plus, a huge part of the enjoyment of Justified is the dialogue and delivery, with Walton Goggins and Timothy Olyphant leading...

    The 1966 Hobbit cartoon

It seems to assume that anyone watching knows the story - no explanation of what a Hobbit is, a reference to Hobbiton coming out of the blue, several parts of the adventure stuck in seemingly for no reason except they're in the book - but at the same time it assumes that they'll be OK with the...

D&D General “‘Scantily Clad and Well Proportioned’: Sexism and Gender Stereotyping in the Gaming Worlds of TSR and Dungeons & Dragons.”

It appears to be from the Dragonlance book "Time of the Twins" - Caramon is sent to an arena to train and fight as a gladiator. It's explicitly noted that the armour is impractical and serves mostly as a costume.

D&D General “‘Scantily Clad and Well Proportioned’: Sexism and Gender Stereotyping in the Gaming Worlds of TSR and Dungeons & Dragons.”

Back in the days of 3.0, Dragon had a cover depicting a close-up of a bare-chested male elf. A few issues later, they published a letter that someone had written complaining about how they couldn't leave that issue lying around, because they didn't want to have to explain gay erotica to their...
