Considering quite a few people log ownership but not plays, and admit it when QOTDs ask, the play count stats are pretty meaningless. I've not logged plays in years. My RPG sessions don't even get logged in the log system...

It's a rules issue mirroring the genre issue. Not as profound, but Feng Shui 2 gives a bonus for colorful descriptions, too... And it's an option in a lot of storygames to give bonuses for colorful narrations. It's the kind of "enforcing the genre" rule I tend to like, but I do realize the PITA...

Only works if players will use them. Too many won't. There's a reason I refuse to run every other or once a month again.

It was 10 short sessions (~2 hours each)... had it been done FTF rather than VOIP, it would probably have been 5 sessions. It was never intended to run that long, but they wound up pursuing every sidetrack.

Waterbird: you can dive and move naturally underwater; you do not start to drown for the first Strength minutes. You can sleep while floating on the surface, and in rain, without discomfort. That's a double but relatively minor benefit that Swans, Ducks, Geese, and Puffins all can pull off.

"Open license" simply means that it's not specifically contracted with the licensee and is not charged for; anyone can use the license (become a licensee), for free, by adhering to the license texts and the reference texts. The DP CGL does that. As do the Wizards OGL, most of the CC licenses...

Hell, my own campaigns of that year. Traveller was a 5-6 hour session. Pendragon was 2-4 hours, depending upon when people showed up. Prime Directive was a potent 3-4... but some sessions of PD ran 5... My own over two year campaigns total 2: one was Pendragon - that very campaign. the other...

It [mostly] isn't the present intent that's at issue... neither the WOGL nor the DPCGL are currently problematic... as in, expected to be abused by the companies issuing it. But we know that, every 8-10 years, HasBro is going to push for wizards to find some way to abolish the WOGL and capture...
