Incredibly kind @xyrad. Thank you. How long did this project take you to complete?

D&D General WotC is at it again

Good grief I was still under the assumption that Wizards did not have a forum anymore from when they closed it years ago...

D&D General What Are Dragonlance's Weis & Hickman, and Actor Manganiello Cooking Up?

First, I never made the comparison between Orcs of LotR and the Kagonesti - I was referring to the heroes. Second, I do not agree with your assessment of Qualinesti and Silvanesti elves as being auto-good. Third, I have not read the Elf War trilogies or enough Dragonlance to see how the authors...

D&D General What Are Dragonlance's Weis & Hickman, and Actor Manganiello Cooking Up?

My point was that trying to safeguard against memes is a terrible metric. What people remember from the all-white cast of Lord of the Rings are not the memes - so I do think this white-elves dark-elves supposed dilemma is storm in a tea-cup nonsense which would generate a few rage-baiting...

By that metric Django and Inglourious Bastards failed.

D&D General What Are Dragonlance's Weis & Hickman, and Actor Manganiello Cooking Up?

The draconian costume/makeup is going to be quite a costly affair I imagine.

D&D General What Are Dragonlance's Weis & Hickman, and Actor Manganiello Cooking Up?

I think what @mamba is trying to say, is it necessary to state for modern audiences? As opposed to which audiences?

D&D General What Are Dragonlance's Weis & Hickman, and Actor Manganiello Cooking Up?

Noted, apologies and fair enough. I'm not going to drag this out further than this post but Kender arms and Chimpanzee arms (despite the similarities in main body frame) are wildly different IMO.

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

With that many goblins I would use mob tactics as per the DMG. PCs build up crazy AC and rolling so many times just to miss is disheartening, so I switch to mob tactics and other forms of attack with help actions (grapple, trip, etc) against casters

I do not have an issue with a recast of Goldmoon...in the same way I love Corlys Velaryon in House of Dragon. I was referring to Kender. Are you saying Kleptomaniacs Anonymous have found Kender offensive to them and that we need to listen?

D&D General What Are Dragonlance's Weis & Hickman, and Actor Manganiello Cooking Up?

I love how people champion for 3 feet tall halflings to be able to have 20 Strength because fantasy but take issue with other fantasy because it doesn't make sense with their reality. Personally, I'd love for them to bring to life on screen the time before the Cataclysm - I just imagine there...

D&D General The Beautiful Mess of 5e

We have an Expertise Die (d6) instead of doubling your proficiency. For knowledge checks if it is something general you roll d20 If the knowledge checks are for something specific we roll with disadvantage The Expertise Die can be for either check. The randomness I find makes rolling fun...

Your top 5 movie trilogies of all time, and why?

In no particular order Mission Impossible (Ghost Protocol, Rogue Nation and Fallout) - Just edge of your seat action with a great cast and tight dialogue Lord of the Rings Trilogy - Masterfully made. Unbreakable Series (Unbreakable, Split and Glass) - Fell in love with the story, the idea was...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

True, the fighter and barbarians are a menace (especially multi-classed) shield, hasted, enlarged etc - those usually can get neutered with spells or controlling the environment but the casters are the ones that can counter that, control the battlefield and accentuate the power of the melee...

D&D General The Beautiful Mess of 5e

Upscaling the damage does three things: makes the spells more useful makes the fights more deadly (counters the hit point bloat) shortens combat I would also increase the damage done by natural attacks done by larger monsters (bite, claw, weapon). The conditions of push or prone being...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

This is a good point. The other thing is to have the intelligent foes target spellcasters. Grappled them, move them (pull or teleport them), drop them prone, sunder their spell focus.
