Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Reminds me of life insurance that does not apply for “acts of god or nuclear war.”

D&D General 10 Things that Happened in a Recent D&D Session

Bonus 11th: They found a big chamber with old medieval church art type murals of the four elemental princes(ses) of evil - one on each wall.

D&D General 10 Things that Happened in a Recent D&D Session

Last night was the 34th session of my "Primordial Evil" campaign (a homebrew spin on ToEE). Here are 10 things that happened during our 3-hour session (in no particular order): 1. After nearly 3 years of real-world time (3 and half months of in-game time), the party finally got to the old moat...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Sometimes it is good to temporarily unblock someone just so you can remember why you did it to begin with. Sometimes it is good to temporarily unblock someone because they turn out to either be not as bad you remembered, or maybe they matured some in the intervening time (or you have).

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

Other question, are milestones always level ups or are they ever just XP awards that might not be enough to level?

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

Here’s a question (that might be better as its own thread) but for those of you who do milestone advancement, do the players know what the milestone goal is? Sometimes? All the time? Never? Curious.

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

I also have to say that as a player I prefer slow advancement. I want time to play my character and learn what my companions can do at each level. I joined an in-progress game last year and started at 8th level. The character is now 11th, nearly 12th based on XP awarded. But personally, I’d...

D&D General XP: How Do You Like To Earn It?

I chose fighting monsters, overcoming obstacles, and social encounters - but also included Treasure, though that depends on the specific style of game, while the other 3 are pretty universal to my preferences as a D&D player.

D&D General Highest level PC you've achieved.

The highest in a game I played in from level 1 would probably be in 2E and that was maybe level 5. (I mostly DMed). This took about a year of weekly play (give or take) The highest level characters that started at level 1 in a game I ran were 11th level in a 3e game and this took 5 years of...

    What was your 2nd RPG?

I can’t remember if it was Star Frontiers or TSR’s Marvel Super Heroes. The former was definitely the second I ran, but I may have played the latter before that. Either way it was within the same year.

I did that thing again, where I write out a response to a thread, but then just delete it before submitting.

D&D General Metal Miniatures Based On the 1977 D&D Basic Set Box

I have and use that Ral Partha lizard man regularly. About half my collection ( it a smaller percentage all the time) are metal ral partha or 90s metal reaper. While differences in scale can bother me for bigger minis (a have a reaper fire giant I use as an adolescent among the wiz kid and...

D&D General ENWorld is better that the pundits…change my mind

Heck, you even get a subset of folk for whom the very notion of "building" a character is anathema - so we have everyone covered regardless of preference (for good or ill).

D&D General 10 Things that Happened in a Recent D&D Session

Today was the 66th session of my Revenants of Saltmarsh campaign. Here are 10 things that happened during our 3-hour session (in no particular order): 1. The party decided to risk a forced march. 2. The party suffered an interrupted Long Rest after a "wandering monster" roll. 3. The paladin...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I was gonna say the same. It is not that someone less well-read can't make a good point, it is that sometimes not being well-read enough in a field (like RPGs) without expressing the caveat of how informed you aren't, can come off as unearned arrogance when you make a clearly erroneous claim...
