D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

in print or in other words, because WotC was too greedy. They could easily afford to sell it at a more competitive price. Everyone else manages at much smaller volumes

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

given that literally any other publisher manages to do so for 50% or less, that just shows how comfortable and complacent WotC can afford to be at that price point I am perfectly fine with this experiment failing. WotC can take away whatever lesson they want

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

so no one ever makes it to level 20, apart from possibly the player characters, as they are exempt from this rule

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

it’s the gun, not the gunslinger, isn’t it? How else do they get hurt by a misfire, did they shoot themselves in the foot?

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

collectively, it is about 100 pages, so about 20% of the two FR books, maybe up to 25%, not sure about exact page counts, and it costs over 2/3s of the two digital books. So not even a good price compared to video games where DLC is notoriously overpriced

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

that is basically my point, their DLC is overpriced… you can call it ‘not cost effective’ but that really is the same thing

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

nah, $5 would be fine, $8 is getting pretty expensive, anything over that is indefensible show me a better objective metric… it’s not like we are comparing apples and oranges, we are comparing the full FR book vs its DLC

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

basically, I see $0.10 to $0.20 as a reasonable price per page, which is where most PDFs land

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

at a minimum the intent clearly is not a broken Dash reaction that cannot be used / does nothing, so whatever the next best interpretation is should probably be the one to take

D&D 5E (2024) Lorwyn: First Light Released on D&D Beyond

so basically at a quarter of the price in digital (given that digital is 50% to 60% of the print price)… interesting how that works ;)

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

it’s probably more the other way around, if Netflix has an FR show, they do not also want all those other D&D shows. The ‘baskets’ in your analogy are the ones deciding which eggs they want, that is not up to Hasbro

ah, was confused because games were listed under marketing too (('how their movies, shows and games should be viewed as marketing')

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

oh, there are several reasons why high level play is rare, sure. That it also is broken / hard to DM in the first place is not helping however I think games that limit themselves to 10 levels had the right idea, whether those are 1-10 or 5-20 with accelerated progression is up to what you are...

D&D General Mike Mearls says control spells are ruining 5th Edition

and you do not consider the wheels coming off on the highway a design flaw? What about not telling anyone that the car is only semi-safe in the city and closer to a deathtrap on highways? It's not just boss monsters, high level play is the issue, the issue is at least as much on the character /...
