One would expect a push when the video game finally comes out.

Has anyone used Shadowdark to run Expedition to Barrier Peaks? If so, tell me about that.

D&D General What D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign?

As a companion to the threead about non-D&D dungeon campaigns, I figured I would ask which D&D or D&D adjacent game (general) you would use for a dungeon centric campaign. That might be megadungeon exploration, a campaign full of 5 room dungeons, or anything in between. For this discussion, all...

What Non-D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign

That looks interesting. I am not a huge fan of the tarot card bit, but I would love to find a dungeon game that was more about the crawl than the combat.

What Non-D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign

Is there a quickstart for TB2E? I found a free introductory adventure, but it does not seem to have the rules of play included.

What Non-D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign

Yeah, the Without Numbers games are superficially "OSR" ish, but I do think they count as very different from D&D-likes.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I am not forgetting them. I am not counting them. Those books have FR info in them, but they aren't FR books as their primary purpose. Just because FR is the default setting of 5E does not mean everything counts as a setting guide.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

Sure. But they aren't "Forgotten Realms Books."

What Non-D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign

I bet you could do a pretty good dungeon focused campaign with the Alien iteration of the Year Zero Engine.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I really dislike this misconception. Avernus is NOT a BG3 tie in adventure.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I wonder if there is any chance they would do a Psionics book, and include DS as the "example psionic focused campaign" in that book.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

Is your take that they keep making Eberron because no one actually likes it? I don't know what you are trying to say here beyond that you, personally, don't care for it.

What Non-D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign

Just chatting: Whether it is a game about going from dungeon to dungeon in search of the 13 Shards of Whatsit, or a sandbox megadungeon exploration: what non-D&D RPG (this includes official, retroclones, OSR and clear derivatives like Shadowdark) would you use for this purpose? Why? What tools...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

WotC: Here's Adventurlandia! Our fist officical setting in decades! Full of the awesomesauce you crave! "Fans": Boo! Where is Jakandor!?! WotC: We heard you! Coming next year: Jakandor 5E! "Fans": NOT MY JAKANDOR!

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

There are people who will be really happy if Dark Sun happens. There will also be a lot of people that will be really unhappy with whatever WotC does with it. I just wish they would do something NEW.

    Playing "Adventurers" As Actual Adventurers

I am more interested in the mechanics of how to do such a thing well at the table so that it is engaging and dramatic and tense.

    Playing "Adventurers" As Actual Adventurers

or just mapping the wild for the sake of knowledge. Or climbinga mountain, to say you did. Or discovering a more efficient passage from one side of the continent to another. or surveying a new land. There are lots of ways to imagine this without kicking the colonial hornets nest that will...
