I figured that you would manage to have it work, with more time and more words! That's one of the "Iron" part of Iron DM - they can get banged into shape with a hammer and anvil - but you're strapped for time and word-resources. It was a good entry!

But it's not equivalent to a PHB. It's equivalent to a Starter Version of the PHB, DMG, MM, and an Adventure, plus character sheets, minis, dice, and battle maps!

IME, they are a vast array of various extremes. With careful observation, some trends emerge, but you can't rely on the trends in any given specific case. You can only adapt.
