"Let it go." Similar to many others - give over the game to the players' stories. Provide opportunities and expect to improvise. For a high-prep DM like me this is a good reminder. Prep is always useful, but a lot of times not for the session I prepped it for!

I mostly agree, although 5e was a better in this regard. I'm with you - I wish I had time and invested players to run this game again!
