Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

Yeah, that's what I was complaining about earlier in the thread ... it feels like they never really explore "strange new worlds" or go "where no one has gone before" anymore. I mean, in this most recent episode, we didn't even get to see the surface of the strange new world that needed help...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I guess that's a valid point. I'm just not sure Dark Sun is the right place in which to do that. I think any future iteration of Dark Sun should make it clear that the Sorcerer-Kings are Bad Guys TM, and therefore anyone who is pro-sorcerer-king should also be a Bad Guy TM. Even if you want to...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

What? I'm not a fan of Bad Guy TM PC options. I'd prefer it if necromancers, assassins, conquest paladins, etc were also NPC only. I don't run Bad Guy TM campaigns. Players in my campaigns know that.

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Infinite Staircase?

I think I would like it better if the adventure was about various factions spread out across an actual lost city, not just confined to close quarters in a small ziggurat. But of course the actual lost city is the part that’s left for DMs to do themselves.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

UA feedback survey is now open! Here's my feedback: Druid Circle of Preservation: Yellow overall. I like the idea but a) what it does mechanically is NOT preserving (it's regenerating / rejuvenating) and b) druids shouldn't be the only preservers. Renaming this the Circle of Rejuvenation would...

    D&D 5E (2024) Thoughts on Infinite Staircase?

OK so, first, I love the Infinite Staircase in general and Nafas as a patron. I am now using it in my Eberron campaign. Next, my thoughts on the specific adventures: The Lost City: I skipped this one because a) my PCs were already past levels 1-3 when the book came out, and b) I don't like...

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

You have not met any Trekkers then. (They’re the ones who get offended if you call them “Trekkies”.) See also “Star Wars vs Star Trek”.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

AV Club has a nice review of the episode with some speculation that the writers’ strike might be why this season feels a bit undercooked: Star Trek: Strange New Worlds gets goofy with Patton Oswalt

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

I liked that La’an’s heritage turned her into a Romulan instead of a Vulcan. I’ve never even bothered to check! That was excellent. Spock’s smile …

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

I guess maybe it was just an Easter egg sort of thing? Or a plot thread they decided not to continue with? The vezda is still lurking in the Enterprise computer too ... I wonder when it's going to rear its ugly head again! (The finale maybe?)

    D&D 5E (2024) Shackled City 5E?

I enjoyed the early parts of Age of Worms, but around the time you go to the jungle, it rapidly went downhill, becoming super railroady, to the point where it felt like nothing we did had any impact on the story.

Spoilers Star Trek: Strange New Worlds - Season 3 Viewing (Spoilers)

Four and a Half Vulcans is a bit mean toward Spock but damn is it hilarious! They even re-recorded Pike’s intro monologue in his “Vulcan” voice. I haven’t laughed this hard for this long in a while!

I can't see this either ... but also, since this is the someone is wrong on the internet thread, I feel compelled to point out that you spelled "canon" incorrectly! This is a cannon:

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

As an aside, this is how the Dark Sun wiki describes Rajaat: "Unlike his fellow Pyreen, who were all angelic of visage and straight of limb, Rajaat was a twisted, ugly lump of a creature who caused great disgust by his mere presence. The reactions to his twisted body soon caused his mind to...

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

Fair enough! I'd never even heard of them until the other day, when I googled Rajaat. Someone else upthread said they were essentially aasimar. I see no reason why we couldn't have aasimar who are nature spirit-themed rather than heavenly spirit-themed.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I get your overall point, but in terms of aasimar specifically, aren't they essentially what the Pyreen were? Are they meant to have all died out (except for Rajaat)?
