Yep. I want to use these new critters straight away. With the Thunder damage add on it’s a given that an Aarakocra ambush is something you can hear from far away—just the sort of thing to lure adventurers to the scene of the attack.

I was not aware that Cormyr was on the list of places the new sourcebooks would update. Are you inferring that Cormyr is to be updated or do you have a link or source that confirms this definitively?

There’s a difference between updates and retcons. Modern-day Cormyreans still remember the last time a purple-colored dragon flew in the sky (see Fire In The Blood). Those aren’t happy memories.

I had forgotten about the hyppogriff riders! I think they were based on the western slopes of the Stormhorns, well away from population centers. My thought was the Purple Dragons should be riding wyverns. Plenty of those on Cormyr’s borders.

This is an odd take. The Realms have advanced by nearly a century and a half. A lot has changed. Heck, I remember Ed at GenCon talking about how the Realms must change. Cormyr is a case in point. 4E and 5E saw a boatload of new lore about Cormyr in the form of several novels, Dragon/Dungeon...

FR got its long, rich history by designers paying attention to to, and being mindful of, what came before (4E excepted). PDKs as presented would only add contradiction, would upend Cormyrean law and tradition, and invite into Cormyr’s territory the last thing anybody wants (dragons). Purple...
