Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

There are Dragonborn and even Draconia (the kingdom Tiberius was from) in the animated series, though Tiberius himself isn't. Season 3 actually has a character that feels like a very on-the-nose take that to Tiberius.

D&D General The rapier in D&D

I know Mystara Dwarves being non-magical was a thing but I didn't think that applied to other settings. Is that why Dwarves in Dragon Age can't use magic?

Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

I feel like this notion that the more recent stuff has been uber serious and grim dark is a bit weird. Campaign 3, I mean, this is the campaign where the crew literally pretended they were shooting a pornographic film... ...in a setting where it's not even been established that cameras exist...

Critical Role Releases New Campaign 4 Trailer

I do hope that Brennan isn't afraid to inject some more classic D&Disms into the game. It feels like Matt has been hesitant to use the more iconic D&D monsters. Remember CR were fighting Mind Flayers and a Beholder in their first arc but I don't think we've seen either creature since the...

D&D General Odd Speak with Dead Question

I don't think a door counts as a corpse.... sounds like 'Speak With Objects' would be a better bet. There's even such a spell in Kobold Press' Deep Magic.

D&D General The rapier in D&D

You know, I imagine dragon hearts must be immensely powerful to pump all that blood around such a large powerful body. I'd imagine even breaking a capillary results in a torrent. Fighting dragons isn't about hitting their vitals, it's about bleeding them until they don't have any fight left in them.

D&D General The rapier in D&D

I mean, it's pretty on brand for the permanent Renaissance-era trappings of the Forgotten Realms it feels pretty well at home. Maybe less so in Greyhawk or Eberron.

    D&D 5E (2024) Predict WotC's 2026 D&D releases

I'm guessing: - Two adventures, one of which is an anthology, - Dark Sun -'Everything' style book that revises a lot of Xanthar's and Tasha's content that didn't get updated for the PHB.

D&D General Why do we color-code Dragons?

My Spelljammer game that ended this month had the party up against three dragons, one fey-touched adult white, one mirage dragon from a DMs Guild adventure, and one adult purple dragon that had a bunch of minions. The last of those was one heck of a fight and nearly cost the party warlock her...

D&D General Monster Importance in Homebrews?

I mean, I just assume that all monsters, even those not yet released, are on the table in some capacity. The monsters are as easy to modify as the setting, after all. If they're absolutely not something that can fit into the ecology of the world as already established, then they can be from...

D&D General 5.5 PHB Species Options

To be fair, it was one use per short or long rest, which might end up being more uses than in 2024 based on how many short rests the party takes. The bigger problem with it was that it uses your whole action.

D&D General Kitchen sink setting or narrow genre focus for long-running campaigns (2,5,10+ years)

Golarion is a tough nut for me to crack. I've been in a Wrath of the Righteous campaign for a year now and I still don't feel like I have the slightest idea what differentiates Golarion from other settings. Maybe that's just the narrow focus of this campaign.
