D&D 5E (2014) Pros and Cons of using the average damage on the Monster's stat block.

I roll the damage at the same time as the d20 to hit. There's a lot of tension as I shake the dice. I often explain what's happening as I grab dice and begin to shake them in my hand (hands for more than a few dice). When the PC getting attacked is close to dropping, it really creates some...

Release Press Releases & Kickstarter Announcements

Oh, all good then. I imagined them taking up real estate in the main feed.

    D&D 5E (2014) 5th Edition has broken Bounded Accuracy

If the PCs miss half the time, the fights are twice as long. No thanks to that.

Release Press Releases & Kickstarter Announcements

I certainly don't blame you for going this route, Russ. That sounds insane. I do fear the news page getting spammed with crappy KS announcements though. Is there maybe a way to have these announcements pop up on the side of the main page without drowning out the real news?

D&D 5E (2014) Just About Sick Of Darkvision.

Really? I used Roll20 for about 2 years, but recently, my dispersed group game back together again, so we're tabletop once more. But I didn't want to touch any of the dynamic lighting stuff with a 10' pole. I used Fantasy Grounds back in the day, and all the bells and whistles in that...

    D&D 5E (2014) Wand of the War Mage +1

I think it was a 4e thing, but I don't remember that being a playtest thing.

So long and thanks for all the gish.

    April's D&D Feedback Survey Results

The survey questions are worded in a way that you don't answer them or give an "I don't know" answer if they are irrelevant to you. So this is already the case; if you buy adventures, you answer the question about buying adventures. Otherwise, you don't. Or shouldn't. But they couldn't stop...

    April's D&D Feedback Survey Results

It's alright to state an opinion, but I wouldn't go as far as to ascribe these thoughts to all people that buy adventures. I do both, create my own and buy published, and whether an adventure is sandbox or linear is one of the most important things for me. And according to the survey, it's...

    April's D&D Feedback Survey Results

I'm familiar with all of these adventures, and I'd say PotA fits in with them. The party can go where they like and check out whatever rumors they want. That led to the group I'm running heading straight to Scarlet Moon Hall. Lucky for them, they're level 5 due to previous adventuring, but...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeons & Dragons Dice Master Game

No comparison, really. It's like comparing MtG to Spellfire, another "great" TSR game. :) Marvel Dice Masters was released to a lot of fanfare last year. They expanded the licenses to both DC and D&D since then. Pretty popular game, I don't see it going away any time soon.

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeons & Dragons Dice Master Game

I played Dice Masters for the first time this weekend (Justice League booster draft). Fun game. Not sure I'm into a collectable game, but if you are, it's a good one.

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell Area doubts !

Right. By blocked, I meant blocked by full cover, like a wall. It will balloon out around corners. Despite the handwavy physics oddities of a lot of D&D fundamentals, volumetric expansion still applies. :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Spell Area doubts !

Fireball is a 20 ft-radius sphere. So it reaches every point in space around the point of origin for 20 feet (unless blocked, of course).

    D&D 5E (2014) Gencon release?

That's because it's multimedia. They can keep an RPG book under wraps easier than other types of media.

D&D 5E (2014) We've had dragons, elementals, and demons - so what iconic evil is next?

Flumphs, the vilest creatures in the MM, of course. The horror! THE HORROR!!!

    D&D 5E (2014) Thinking about 5E releases...

Included, but completely ignorable. Even better, they can give non-AL DMs some ideas or interesting NPCs. Trust me, if the adventures were AL intrusive, I'd have little to do with them. I appreciate that there are those that enjoy AL, but that style of game is not for me.

D&D 5E (2014) Why such little content (books) for Dnd 5e?

Don't be sorry. I'd love to see another good D&D video game. There hasn't been one of those for many years. My choice there is play a bad new game or go back and replay the old games. Or another good non-adventure board game, like Lords of Waterdeep. I was surprised when they put out such a...
