  1. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

Attacks might be fine, that is not a full turn. That is just legendary actions. The issue was we were fighting a giant mountain troll that had 6 attacks, moves, and reactions (because 6 players). The image it conjured was of a giant Tasmanian devil zipping about the battlefield. It just didn’t...

At that level 20+ it really isn’t about immersion in reality (not that meteor storm or a vast number of spells are either)
  4. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

Yep, there is a lot of fiction where a master warrior can cut the top off mountain - and that is before the ascend to be an immortal! This is mostly Asian (Korean, Chinese, and Japanese) that I am aware off, but they often give it a medieval fantasy setting. Personally I could see this in D&D...
  5. Uni-the-Unicorn!

    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

As a player I don’t like a solo who can act after every PC. We tried that once and it just took me out of the fiction. Maybe it can be done right, but I don’t think it works for every monster.

There is lot of fiction where that is true though. Heck, in the Record of the Lodoss War the fighter can do it with a broom! Now, is that D&D? Not low levels, but you get high enough why not!

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

Start at 5th level then. Didn’t DS originally require OP characters because it was so brutal. Just start at 3 or 5 and go from there

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I haven't looked at them myself yet, but the sorcerer that can steal peoples HD to power their magic. That doesn't sound boring in it is surface (like I said I haven't read the subclass yet).

D&D General [rant]The conservatism of D&D fans is exhausting.

I was talking about combining narrativist rules w/ simulationist rules

Aren’t both daggerbeart and the cosimere (so) rpg tackle those?

D&D's October Product Revealed to Be Stranger Things Tie-In

It looks like the new monster is “Demodragon” to my eye.

Starfinder 40k Inspired Starfinder Roleplaying Game Adventure Module

I don’t have the numbers in front of me, but IME CR 5 is not a threat to a group of 4-5 level 3 PCs and CR 7 even less so for level 5 PCs.

Starfinder 40k Inspired Starfinder Roleplaying Game Adventure Module

You can always change the difficulty, the question was how the adventure was designed
  15. Uni-the-Unicorn!

Starfinder 40k Inspired Starfinder Roleplaying Game Adventure Module

Is this correct? CR 5-7 encounters are a cake walk for a group of level 3-5 PCs This otherwise looks very interesting.

D&D 5E (2024) Best 5.5 Mechanic They Should Use More IMHO

Is that it, no other good ones?!

D&D 5E (2024) What Should a Psion Be Able To Do?

No, 5E does not have anything like that. Hiwrver that is how the developers described it several years back. It might’ve been a Sage Advice or something like that, but I just remember the developers talking about it.

D&D 5E (2024) What Should a Psion Be Able To Do?

That is an interesting distinction. I don’t know that I like it for wizards either, but it might be an interesting way to differentiate the two.
