    D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk: Pitching the Reboot

I'd reboot Greyhawk by finding a place to put Nentir Vale and Nerath in it. ;D

    D&D 5E (2024) Standard vs Alternate covers (+)

I always preorder the Alt covers from my FLGS.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

Wizards can swap out cantrips for other cantrips on their list every long rest. Though not from their spellbook, from their spell list.

D&D General Words which replaced "race" in fantasy games

MtG no longer limits to just 2 creature types (Race/Class) maximum - ever since the 2022 typal update when phyrexian can be added in front of 2 other creature types, it's really just creature type, but can mean their job or their heritage. So I guess in that case, Creature Type would count? Of...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

They can't afford to have the flexibility of spells prepared the same way the Wizard does, though. They just don't have the quantity of spells to prepare for as many situations as the Wizard can. With all the classes providing short rest benefits now, expect the 5MWD problem to largely...

D&D General What would be a good published setting to use for a dead/dying world that has been taken over by Tharizdun?

To answer the OP's question seriously, I think it would be interesting to consider thari- err, the EEE, as actual intelligence behind the Dragon of Tyr, and to make all of Dark Sun his dead and dying world.

D&D 5E (2014) What PC species should return for 5ed?

Deva was just made for 4e because someone decided they had had enough of the Arse jokes about Aasimar and wanted them playable without people snickering. It's the same player species.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

25, but that's just preparing from the spellbook. Wizards can also cast any of the spells in their spellbook as rituals regardless of preparation. And they can swap out a prepared spell each short rest. Wizards gain 2 spells for their spellbook every level, and can also scribe additional spells...

D&D 5E (2014) What PC species should return for 5ed?

And they got stats in 4e in Dragon magazine. My point was in 5e, not other editions or game systems or 3rd party variant systems.

D&D 5E (2014) What PC species should return for 5ed?

Gnolls never got PC stats because they really leaned into "Gnolls aren't humanoids, they're fiends" thing. Guess they wanted a common D&D monster species that isn't undergoing the transformation into PC Species like Goblins, Orcs, Kobolds, etc.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

I do think they should lean more into the cantrips and metamagic side of things, and switch to spell points, when they get to the next major revision. But I think the Sorcerer currently has an interesting mechanical space as flexible in the moment while the Warlock is flexible at Character...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

There's a bunch of disease examples and options in the DMG. But I vaguely recall this too. Makes me sad; I like it as a potential threat!

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal: "New Wizard"

Bards can get them, but only ~2 per level starting at 10, and they still only prepare like half as many of them as Wizards do, and they can't swap them out during a LR like Wizards can do with the spells they've added to their spellbook. Bards have the most versatility in access to spells, but...

D&D 5E (2014) What PC species should return for 5ed?

Cactusfolk from Thunder Junction, if only because they're abso-effing-lutely amazing. And we need more plant people. Wilden/Killoren were dope. I really want a crossover book with Outlaws of Thunder Junction. It's a crossroads of planes due to the Omenpaths connecting them with places like...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Sorcerer"

It's the Mutant / Enhanced superhero class (but not Warrior-type; that's the Barbarian, Monk, or Artificer depending on their superpower source). This is X-MEN like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Magneto, Storm, or Jubilee. You can do a very small number of things REALLY well and you can change the way you...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

Yeah, that's what I got from the Playtest, but the article was nebulous on that. Was wondering if anyone can confirm that they just didn't mention a bunch of abilities despite saying that if they didn't mention it it was unchanged…

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

Cleansing Touch didn't actually do anything with poison – it ended spell effects on a target Cha Mod/Long Rest. It seems to be replaced with Restoring Touch (Use Lay on Hands HP Pool to end certain conditions on a target), but they didn't mention anything regarding it in the table. I noticed...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook reveal: "New Monk"

Any idea if the relatively mystical ki-based features are gone? Tongue of Sun and Moon, Timeless Body, Empty Body, Diamond Soul, Stillness of Mind, Purity of Body, etc? They were removed in the playtest but aren't mentioned in the article.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2024 Player's Handbook Reveal #3: "New Paladin"

Any ideas if Divine Health and Cleansing Touch are still gone or if they're unchanged because unmentioned? Both were removed as of the most recent playtests, and are not mentioned here.
