You should be fine to run as is. This is especially true if your players are more optimized than normal since most modules are set for a 'normal' party. Keep in mind that 5th level is a big bump in PC power with extra attacks and 3rd level spells and such. You can always fudge some monsters...

Could a healing spell just heal a set percent of your total instead of having a chart for each class? A basic cure light wounds heals 1/4 your total. Maybe add your level to make things more balanced as you gain levels. So a mage with 4hp only gains 1hp (or 1+1 if gaining your level as well)...

Perhaps long-lived races like elves only can have children a few times. Where humans can become pregnant each month, an elf might only be able to once a year or every 5/10/50 years.
