D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Monster Manual’s Ancient Gold Dragon

The Beyond version at the least has the spell attack bonus in it.

Project Sigil Sigil, WotC 3D vtt game automation no more?

It basically does all that stuff right now.

D&D General Things I like in the new MM

While I have some slight issues (like the ones I mentioned in the errata thread about the Red Dragon and Hobgoblin) I love the book a lot.

Yeah Automation is not going away.

    D&D 5E (2024) Monster Manual Errata up.

A 2014 Hobgoblin deals "5 (1d8 + 1) slashing damage, or 6 (1d10 + 1) slashing damage if used with two hands." plus 2d6 if they have the Martial Advantage. The Captain deals "9 (2d6 + 2) piercing damage" plus 3d6 if they get Martial Advantage. 2024 Hobgoblin deals "12 (2d10 + 1) Slashing...

    D&D 5E (2024) Monster Manual Errata up.

I feel that the Hobgoblin and Red Dragon have weird damages. Hobgoblins deal 2d10 damage which feels like a lot for a CR 1/2 monster, and the Captain does less. The Red Dragon is similar in that the Young has a 2d6 + 1d6 Rend to the Adult's 1d10 + 2d4. Feels like like the Adult should be 2d8...

    D&D 5E (2024) Monster Manual Errata up.

Well it means likely they can only use 2 of those powers a day rather than 2 each.

That stuff is still there as someone in the Alpha, and I would hate for it to go away.

D&D General Drow & Orcs Removed from the Monster Manual

It's in the DMG which the MM points to. And in the Altering a creature section it includes a list of traits and various things it says you can alter Says a similar thing about languages.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

It's not a misleading scam. It's new statblocks. They said what they were in advance. Here let me give all the new Statblocks. I am defining new as was not in the 2014 book and is not the same thing but renamed (So Kobold becoming Kobold Warrior does not count). There are also a few that are...

Pathfinder 2E to Add Jotunborn Ancestry in Battlecry

Surprised they did not have a Goliath equivalent sooner.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

You can decide that in your game, but it's not the game definition. Monstrosities don't have to do magic. Owlbears, Ankegs Bulletes and various others are mundane if dangerous creatures.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

No it does not need to. At least by the Game's definition.

D&D General Drow & Orcs Removed from the Monster Manual

No in this case it's quite consistent.

D&D General Drow & Orcs Removed from the Monster Manual

Hopefully a future book gives them some details. For now I am ok with using Humanoid Statblocks.

The Lizardfolk entry says they are.

    D&D 5E (2014) What's a Yugoloth?

Agreed there should have been something in the Glossary explaining what the group is. Splitting them up means no more group explanations.

    D&D 5E (2024) I have a Monster Manual. AMA!

Berserker is an Orog, Cultist Fanatic is for Eye of Gruumsh. (Mechanically they were quite similar in 2014) Also just discovered that Beyond has some extra art. Was going through the Cultist Section and they have extra art of the cultists. Aberrant Cultist, Hierophant, Fiend Cultist
