    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Studio Blog - Sage Advice - Creature Evolutions

I mean "uncivilized" "races" tend to have shorter age ranges so it probably is problematic. And size/weight probably isn't inclusive of diverse body types. But yes. If they were trying to avoid the genocide problem, changing the creature types based on "cultural and moral range" actually just...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D Studio Blog - Sage Advice - Creature Evolutions

I don't really understand what similar "moral and cultural range" means. It is a basic understanding in writing that, given the limitations of human understanding, that all sapient characters in fiction are fundamentally, psychologically human. Talking bird? Human. The aliens from Arrival...

    D&D 5E (2014) Epic Monsters: Sea Witch

Most "versions" of Lucifer are non-bliblical, and are not what a theologian understand this figure to be. Lucifer as depicted in art, pop culture, and especially Inferno is not a character from religious source material--but from secondary material. I would be really uncomfortable depicting G-d...

    Level Up (A5E) Player Durability?

It should be noted that A5e makes exploration considerably more challenging. The conditions of a wilderness treck considerably increase the danger of "regular" combat. Unprepared and reckless players unlikely to undermine the "sturdyness" of the character

Official News A Quick Look At Skills

Yes, the game does have a list of specialties! Plus, there's no reason why the Narrator can't add more based on their setting or the disposition of the players. IDK if "woodlands" is a type of Stealth specialty in the Core Rulebook, but I see a strong argument for environmental stealth...

Level Up (A5E) A list without comment or context

The word "exotic weapon" is not used in this game, but the functionality exists. If you want to include a weapon on a default proficiency list or invent an unusual weapon, there is ample design space for that.

Level Up (A5E) Did I miss the Equipment Playtest document somehow?

No, the equipment sections were not previewed. I can tell you though, they are a LOT of fun and a lot of care went into them.

Level Up (A5E) Equipping higher level characters

Players can still choose whatever items they like to spend their starting gold on (barring Narrator disapproval of course). I hope that the overhaul of the items helps keep the bizarre super powerful item combos at bay, but who knows. Maybe the power gamers/trolls will really take to A5e...

Level Up (A5E) Level Up A5e Podcast: Mysteries of the Mournland

I would still encourage you to try it out. The game elements are not omitted, although in combat some are abbreviated. edit: As a point of reference, MotM is about as highly edited as Harmon Quest except more forward with game mechanics. There are still jokes and off-topics, just not...

Level Up (A5E) Level Up A5e Podcast: Mysteries of the Mournland

Since it is highly edited to avoid a lot of the awkward moments of actual play, Some folks have said it feels a little bit more like an audio drama, so keep that in mind if you're struck by a picky mood

No, the players often times have up-to-date A5e rules, and the narrator has access to the entire system as it exists now. For example, Vanguard uses the up-to-date maneuver system, and he also uses one of the all-new fighter archetypes built for our rendition of the fighter. The narrator has...

D&D General RA Salvatore Wants To Correct Drizzt’s Racist Tropes

In the world I live in, some demons are good and some angels are bad. I'm not sure what else I can say about that.

D&D General RA Salvatore Wants To Correct Drizzt’s Racist Tropes

No, they are replacements thereof. That is why a lot of fantasy worlds, even though they have a wide variety of creatures, are often considered white supremacist utopias because there is such little variety in the humans featured.
