Agreed. I still own my 3e FRCS book. The 3e version had books covering each area of Faerun with a lot of useful material. I hope the upcoming 2024 Heroes of Faerun is a return to covering more areas of the continent.

How many other species in each edition D&D were dropped on top of existing material with little reason? Quite a lot. And if it wasn't a new species, it was a new subspecies. WoTC could have kept the same races from 1e to all of the editions of D&D. No Goliaths, no Tieflings, No Dragonborn, etc...

No one initially thinks a particular game, TV series, etc. will stick around and/or create spinoffs of itself. They all think it will last for a short period of time and then disappear. They forget that the fans of that game or that TV series give them the staying power to last for years.

It's from page 344 in the 2024 PHB. As for those towers that jut into the Positive and Negative planes, I think the Dustman faction in the 2e Planescape setting occupied the four towers jutting into the Negative plane. I didn't know that there were towers that jutted into the Positive Plane.

Your post reminds me of Yin and Yang. ;) While the two are opposites of one another, they aren't antagonistic with one another either. Instead, they complement and perpetuate each other's existence.

Before I started role-playing 5e 4 years ago, I was already friends with the DM and one of the other players (at the time I joined, 17 years and 20 years). I met the rest of my role-playing group back in 2021.

I know. :) I walked down the length of that bridge when PF1 began its' debut in 2009. I have a sizable collection of PF1 books as a result of that journey. ;) I bet that line of thinking disappeared after three months had come and gone, and PF1 was still around. ;)
