D&D General I want a video game done in the Dalelands

There are a couple of NWN/NWN2 modules that are set in the vicinity of the Moonsea. They were after 2000. And if you own the core game you can always make your own.

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

You don't need to be an artificer to create magic items, pretty much anyone can do it. Artificers are the guys who can make magic items on the fly whilst in a dungeon. Player characters being exceptional has always been a core assumption of D&D, no matter how hard some people try to deny it...

D&D General I want a video game done in the Dalelands

Aside from it already having been done (I think a few of the other Gold Box games are set there aside from the abominable Hillsfar) it’s as generic as it’s possible to get. Practically anywhere else would be a more interesting setting for a computer game.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

As has been pointed out several times, there are several named Dragonborn in official FR publications. Not very many - as you would expect, they are a very rare species. I think it would be unlikely for any new setting to make Dragonborn anything other than a very rare species, and therefore...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

You don’t get the point. Those NPCs are not connected to any other NPCs of the same species, their species doesn’t matter any more than their gender or hair colour. In BG3 the Flaming Fist have random names and species (there may even be Dragonborn, I haven’t interacted with all of them and...

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

I suspect we will have both artificers and psions in a 2026 core rules supplement book. Although whether the psion is a reprint depends on if it comes out before or after Dark Sun. I suspect one artificer subclass will remain exclusive to this book though - probably Cartographer. With one...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

And tens of thousands of unnamed Flaming Fist mercenaries of many different species*. Assuming your Flaming Fist character is connected to any of those is highly improbable. It's a stereotype that all Americans think all British people are related to King Charlie. Do you actually believe that...

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

You can say exactly the same thing about humans. Where’re are they from? Everywhere. What are they like? Just like everyone else.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

Aren’t these all details the player normally decides? If I was a player creating a human PC with a background in the Flaming Fist I would expect to have to answer the same questions. And if they are just some NPC guard, then you need to know different things about them. What it’s their...

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

Players who don’t want to deal with a setting’s lore don’t care about playing in a setting.

D&D 5E (2024) Eberron: Fated Flight of the Recluse *possible spoilers*

And the new art is leaning more into closed cabin designs for some.

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

BG3 has a lot of (implied) artificers, even though the class isn’t implemented for PCs.

What are you reading in 2025?

Don’t hold back, tell us what you really think! Also, sounds like System Shock. Or SHODAN up the Jungle maybe.

D&D 5E (2024) One Year On. Warlocks How to Build Them?

since the Eberron book came out you could see how many dragonmarks you can have on one character.

It's what they where believed to in the real world which D&D based it on though.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

DM: “In the town square you see a crowd of people gathered round watching a juggler.” Player: “Are any of them Dragonborn?” DM: “You see the glint of scales at the back the crowd, but you can’t tell if they are a Dragonborn or other scaly species from this range, do you want to go closer?”

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

Well, if they are separate settings I don’t like either of them. Indeed the reason I never played Starfinder after buying it is the inbuilt setting didn’t suit the stories I wanted to tell.

D&D General Wildly Diverse "Circus Troupe" Adventuring Parties

The game is different, but they share the same setting.
