Mixmastershizz beat me to it. I kind of want to hire someone to draw me a side view of these two islands. I'd probably put them on super tall cliffs, like 35-70m high cliffs, but without the stairway up.

I appreciate your review Autumnal. I bounced off the first volume, maybe because the "ending" as it was wasn't very satisfying? I think it also has rotating POV cast, which I don't always like. Maybe now that it is complete, I should go back and give it another whirl.

As everyone has said, condolences to family and friends. I always respected his articles, even if some reviews I didn't agree with his perspective. He was a talented journalist, and the world's a smaller place without him.

I wonder if I need to go back and re-read the Old Man's War books? Or if you are like me and read them close upon release, does he give enough context in ShatPeace that I can just pick it up and go?
