Level Up (A5E) A5E System Reference Document (A5ESRD)

It also feels like it does almost the same thing for the players by giving them more customization options to choose from. Not just in the subclass but in the base of every class as well.

    D&D 5E (2024) WotC Should Make 5.5E Specific Setting

At best there is the implication that there are Dragonborn mercenaries in BG. The characters know that they are out there by word of mouth. It's just that they haven't personally encountered said mercenaries during any of their past journeys nor do they expect to come across them in the present...

And quite a number of D&D-related debates and/or discussions that are many pages long or years long. ;)

    D&D 5E (2024) Preferences in a New Official 5.5e Specific Setting

Hasn't someone already done that? ;) Besides, when you compare the human lifespan to that of an elf or a dwarf, we're still seen as youngsters by them.

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

Wikipedia mentions that the term gargoyle originates from the French gargouille ("conduit for waterflow"). This is composed of the onomatopoeia root garg- and the old French goule ("Animal Mouth, Throat") Etymology of the word Gargoyle A watery breath weapon similar to the Hydropump ability...

    D&D 5E (2024) Preferences in a New Official 5.5e Specific Setting

In addition to every region of Golarion getting a supplement which contained the lore of that region, Paizo had its' Races of Golarion and Inner Sea Races books to do the very same thing for its' PC races. My favorite race books in Pathfinder 1st edition were the Blood of Angels and the Blood of...

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

The 5esrd website has three Gargoyle PC write-ups from Arcanist Press (More Ancestries and Cultures), Arcanomicon (Tales of Arcana Race Guide) and Total Party Kill Games (Book of Monstrous Might: Ecology of the Gargoyles). Gargoyles- Arcanist Press More Ancestries and Cultures Gargoyles-...

Dark Sun could be seen as a post-apocalyptic setting thanks to the Cleansing Wars and Rajaat the Warbringer.

    Do you observe Thanksgiving?

Not at my workplace. :p We were getting in so much Christmas stuff before Halloween that we had to start putting it out in my store's seasonal section. One aisle in seasonal had Halloween candy and paraphernalia, the other seasonal aisle had Christmas stuff. :p We started taking down Halloween...

    D&D 5E (2024) Preferences in a New Official 5.5e Specific Setting

Level Up's Ranger is non-magical. And Pathfinder 1st edition does have a non-magical archetype known as the Skirmisher. It replaced spellcasting with Hunter's Tricks.

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

Hehe. I found a YouTube clip on the Stoneborn. It's a short clip, a little over 2 minutes in length. The author in this clip talks about their lore. :D Edit: They do have tails and the females do have wings.

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

Here are a trio of Stoneborn Gargoyles pictures from the World of Warcraft MMORPG: They almost look like the Gargoyles from the 90's TV series. :) They just need a noticeable tail. And in the case of the female Stoneborn (who is standing in the foreground in the third pic), wings. :p...

Wuxia/anime if we are dealing with a Kara-Tur like setting.

If the setting focused on a city like Sharn, you could also check Urban Fantasy as one of the supported genres as well.

    D&D 5E (2024) Preferences in a New Official 5.5e Specific Setting

I also voted for Urban Fantasy for an official 5.5e specific setting. I have been a fan of this fantasy subgenre for years. :)

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

In the World of Warcraft MMORPG, some Gargoyles were called the Stoneborn. So, if a name change is needed for the gargoyles, here's a name that they could be called and still stick with @Shades of Eternity 's ideas for the species. https://wowpedia.fandom.com/wiki/Stoneborn

D&D General Gargoyles need to be redone.

It is quite possible to have a setting where these Gargoyles exist, and the canonical version doesn't exist. The OP is following the trope, "Our Gargoyles Are Different." ;)
