Your criticisms of trap-finding and thieves are fair and I largely agree with them, but we cannot really expect to see such changes in games that are explicitly clones on B/X and AD&D.

A few years ago, I started re-writing the module with the aim of running it concurrently with I6, as suggested in one of the appendices, but real life got in the way and I've never picked up the project again.

That was, IMHO, a very interesting idea, but not really well executed.

To my knowledge, those were the first remakes of those modules which were for a different edition. This would be quite different. Remade several times, and already made and still available for 5e. More Strahd? OK. Once again the same adventure? I hope not.

Also, do we really need yet another remake of the same adventure? If they are going to use Strahd and Barovia, I hope they make something new.
