    True Spontaneous Spellcaster

The Artificer from Eberron technically is like this with his infusions actually. He casts spontaneously, but from any of the ones in the corebook list, and any others from sourcebooks are either "always there" or found in-game, depending on your DM. Stuff.

    Non-System-Specific Settings...

Privateer Press sorta did that. Though the first book, the Iron Kingdoms Campaign setting, was mostly the crunch of the setting, the second one, the world guide, is purely etting. And like 400 pages of it, I believe. Stuff.

Questions about NWoD (necro from Oct 05)

Another game for those who like more "crunchy" combat and the WW dicepools is their fantasy line, Exalted. There's a second edition coming out in Febuary, but the core rulebook is sitll only $30, so if you want to give a high-fantasy, kung fu, I'm going to blow this boat into shrapnal wiht my...

Questions about NWoD (necro from Oct 05)

This is going to be long. Sorry for the ranting:) First off, if you want to get the full rules on how the NWoD die-mechanic works, you need to get the World of Darkness core rulebook. There are all teh details of die-mechanics and whatnot. Another thing, is that NWoD shouldn't be seen as an...

    Enlightened Fist vs. Sacred Fist

Personally, I think Warmage/Monk makes a good Enlightened Fist as well. You pretty much have a slew of heavy-damage to through about with a lot of energy-piercing damage to boot. Pretty neat. You get a little better HD along the road too, and Warmage's Edge. Another idea, if you want...

    battle sorcerer broken?

Another thing that battle sorcerers end up dealing with is they won't be the utility guy the regular sorcerer was. With a much more limited spell selection, you won't liekly learn things like fireball, but instead more like things like cat's grace, shield, true strike, and other self-buffs...

New World of Darkness core book free on DTRPG!

Actually, WW mainly did "Checkboxes = Temporary, Dots = Permanant". THey've done that pretty consistantly since Vampire 1e from what I can gather. The exceptions were mainly: - Some powers had a cost of a permanant dot in something. - Werewolves could loose dots of Renown in later editions. -...

Linking Metal Types to Schools of Magic

Well, some random ideas on real metals: - Lead seems to be soemthing you'd link to necromancy wihtout much thought. Though, because lead is bad for you, and sucks for chahin, I wrought iron, or whatnot would be a good idea for it, unless you handwave the lead being poisenous thing, and just...

Magic of Eberron, anyone pick it up yet?

I just picked it up yesterday night. Haven't had too much time to look through everything in depth, since i wanted to read the new toys for artficers and it was late when I was done with my actual game-running, but here's some rundown ness: Chapter One covers magic in the setting as a whole...
