    Favorite School of Magic?

I like enchantment and evocation, but if I had to pick one, it would be transmutation. Its the largest school and has a lot of versatility.

    More terrorism in London?

This early after an incident, its hard to know what really happened. I was watching the news just minutes ago and its a lot of unconfirmed reports and rumors. A lot of people saying "we can't really tell you much right now." Supposedly, a small group of armed police has run into a nearby...

    Whats a person to do?

When I had this problem a few years ago, I left my first group and joined another group. In that group I found a few choice players that i really liked. I then got back in contact with a few of my favorite players from the original group and we all got together and made a sort of "super group."...

    D&D and AD&D - 10 Players?

Yeah, bigger groups and multiple PCs per player were more common back in the day. The first group I joined had 7 players and all of them had at least 2 characters.

What was your favorite AD&D characters...

Glenshadow: Not one of my characters, but one I DMed for several years. He was at times NE, CG, and CE. He’s the central character to my homebrew. He’s a human wizard with a very high Intelligence, Charisma and Dexterity. His entire life has been played out in the game sessions. We’ve covered...

    Ettins Are The DM's Friend!

I've used them before, a few times. I always want to run an encounter with them where the players have to outsmart the ettin by playing one head against the other. The players never seem interested in that, though. THey always either run away or try to kill it. They are not interested in playing...

    State of the world

nope. I've been in plenty of fights, but I always saw them coming, and it was always 1 on 1. i've never been "jumped." by a group of guys. Of course I have lived most of my life in the country too. Nashville is the biggest city I've ever seen, and I've lived on the outskirts of it for a...

My sister almost attacked a Pregnant Woman!

Absolutely. I'd rather have the government mucking it up than the way things are now.... and I hate big government. Dysfunctional families are the number one cause of our social problems.

How do you map your homebrew?

I draw the main land masses by hand. I use pregenerated city and town maps, though sometimes i draw my own towns as well. I've got a fat folder of maps that I've photocopied from old modules and gaming books that I use for most cities and large towns.

How do people afford to live?

The last time I checked, the poverty line in America was an average of about $19,000 a year. Over the past few years I've been well above that line a few times, and well below it a few times. I can tell you that that makes all the difference. The difference between making $20,000/year and...

PCs and the people that love them

Sometimes. When we take the Leadership feat, we usually ditch the followers or leave them behind to watch the horses or hold down the fort. We keep the cohorts around though.

How much of your work-day is actually spent working?

Depends. On a bad day, I work about 9 hours of a 12 hour shift (75%). On a good day, its more like 3 hours out of a 12 hour shift (about 25%). The last time I was at work, I spent most of the day reading and napping and planning games.

    Pen & Paper?

Yeah. I was there just yesterday and noticed that it appears to be dead in the water. There seems to be a trend towards increasing popularity of EN World which is causing a decrease in popularity of other DnD sites. I can remember a few years ago when mortality and the WotC boards were both...

Hey, the Germans are really funny! :D In Tennessee we play with some of the rules already mentioned from Alabama and Georgia and Kentucky. In addition to those, we also use these house rules and guidelines: 1. Everyone gets a +2 bonus to Diplomacy (thanks to that Southern Hospitality) 2...

    New Game Location: Work

Several years ago I worked at a lab that was eventually closed down. The last 3 moths we were there, it was a lot of sitting around with nothing to do. So a few other gamers and I would go down to the conference room and game for the whole shift. We had a big table, nice chairs, a breakroom...
