    How do you define "Heartbreaker?"

The Open Gaming movement has also muddied the waters. Was Pathfinder 1E a "heartbreaker"? Obviously not, because of its success, but what if it had flopped? 13th Age, ToV or A5E aren't because each is very aware of the broader technological advancement in RPG systems. But sometimes people...

    How do you define "Heartbreaker?"

Most people think it broadly means "a game like D&D." But what it really means is a game created with the intent of being a better D&D but without any experience with of knowledge of other games and previous advances in system. Most of the "design" you see on places like r/dnd is at least...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Yes. Actual Plays started out as text, and we're around since the beginning, but the term "AP" started on forums in the 90s.

A Veteran Gamer’s Plea: Where’s the Large Print Option for TTRPG Rulebooks?

This sounds like a good idea, and one a small shop might be able to specialize in under license (and using crowdfunding to gage real interest).

How Does AI Affect Your Online Shopping?

I will say this: if a company's ads or other marketing uses AI, I won't bother with the product even a little. And that goes far beyond gaming stuff.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

I am not sure you could point to anything in particular in Daggerheart's design that says "made for actual play/streaming." It wears its influences on its sleeve and they range from 4E D&D to Blades in the Dark to Genysis/Star Wars. People only associate Daggerheart with streaming because it is...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

More importantly, "overtook D&D" is not an especially relevant metric for any game.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Again, i think you are overestimating the importance to the success of Dh a actual play campaign is. Has there ever been another game besides D&D that has explicitly benefited from an actual play show?

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Daggerheart is, among other things, a Play to Find Out game, with explicit advice for the GM to hold on loosely and let play guide the narrative. That is harder to do while also have a linear Adventure Path style adventure in front of you.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

The Critical Role side of the business is getting views for their show (and subs to their platform). I don't think it is a stretch to say that switching away from D&D would result in a major loss of viewers. Not because CR shows not focused on D&D are any "worse" but because the vast majority of...

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

Yes. I meant "Actual Plays" not "Adventure Paths." For the record, while I don't think Daggerheart is a good fit for a D&D/Pathfinder style Adventure Path, I would bet my bottom dollar they are going to produce one anyway. As to Actual Plays, there are a couple ongoing ones. But even so...

Spoilers Stranger Things Season 5 - SPOILERS

It's weird to me that ST is as big as it is. It's fine, I guess. But certainly not good enough to warrant It's cultural import. But I guess quality has never actually been a good measure of relevance, one way or the other.

Daggerheart Sold Out in Two Weeks, Has Three-Year Plan in Place

There are multiple DH APs happening. This is a invalid complaint. More to the point, DH is a TTRPG designed for YOU to actually play, not just watch. Daggerheart is a fun, well designed game and whether there is a 100 episode CR campaign being presented has no impact on its quality as a game...

Spoilers Stranger Things Season 5 - SPOILERS

Everyone keeps saying S5E7 was "bad" but I don't think it is any worse than the rest of S5. It's not S3 bad, but it is far from the high points of S1 and S4.

    What's the best food?

It is very difficult to give a single best, but gun to my head i think it has to be pizza. Obviously pizza from individual places can vary wildly in quality, but when it comes to the most consistently enjoyable food, it averages well above the rest. Second place is tacos, and burgers third...

I assume those D&D projects are going to be related to CR campaign 4?

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I broke down and ordered the Draw Steel core books. A little extravagant since I don't know for sure i will run it, but, hey, it's Christmas.

Trailer Avengers: Doomsday | Only in Theaters December 18, 2026

Overt 4th wall breaking "jokes" in things that are not intentionally surreal or post modern comedy really works me. It is never funny, and almost always the creators patting themselves on the back for being clever. Just tell a good story.
