D&D 5E (2024) Which class is the most durable (level 1)?

Maybe. Not everyone plays with xp as the leveling option.

D&D 5E (2024) Which class is the most durable (level 1)?

Hiding isn’t full proof and you only have 10hp and 14-15 ac yourself. Armor of Agathys helps some. Strong build, but ‘durable’ isn’t the descriptor I would use.

One could also forgo the shield. Use a trident and free hand to prone then grapple.

    D&D 5E (2024) Practical Build #1. Champion Fighter.

I typically stay with 2024 options only, with the exception of subclasses.

Polearm master and the reach weapon with push mastery on it make for an amazing combo. Not particularly tanky though. But may can keep enemies from wanting to approach the squishies.

I feel like sentinel is required asap. That’s the tanky feat. There’s a ton of good masteries to pair it with, mostly depending on your situation. Push to me seems like an essential option. Knocking enemies away from squishies which allows the squishy to run away helps keep enemies...

    D&D General Mage hunter rogue

Soulknife or Swashbuckler IMO. A soulknife wizard hunter seems thematically cool. You get some skill check bonuses as well. Good for stealth to sneak up on them. Decent range. Etc. Swashbuckler get a nice initiative boost and the ability to use sneak attack in melee easily. It’s a very...

D&D General Making Spellcasters feel Caster-y without actually Casting?

Artificers are infusions/subclasses and paladins are a combinations of channel divinity, auras and improved divine smite. You need mechanics that add magical flavor without being actual spells. Those can take about any form, but it’s harder when the classes identity is spell casting as wizards is.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2nd level casters are disappoint

While true, it doesn’t make the level 2 sorcerer good. Maybe better than the wizard, but not good.

D&D General Does Cleric/Druid get 2x wis bonus to Arcana checks?

Yea, I was just about to start a thread on the strength of Druid 1/Cleric 1. Medium Armor/Shields, tons of spells known. Tons of cantrips known. Entangle is one of the best low level concentration spells. Command is one of the best low level non-concentration spells. Plenty of room for...

    D&D 5E (2024) 2nd level casters are disappoint

I'm not seeing the sorcerer appeal at level 2. Warlocks are very good at early levels, primarily due to some invocations being really over tuned for low levels now. But Warlocks aren't what people normally mean when they say 'caster' in a generic situation. That's...

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

Of course. I've never disputed that. But so what if that's the case?

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

Radiant Damage vulnerability with BPS resistance. Yes, it's unlikely, but there is a theoretical use case.

D&D 5E (2024) Does Innate Sorcery grant True Strike advantage?

And True Strike can be detrimental if your str/dex is higher than your casting stat.

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

I know what 'cannot stand the mere existence of another in the space' means. I don't know what 'cannot stand the mere existence of another being recognized in the space' means. Can you elaborate on the difference?

D&D General Does Cleric/Druid get 2x wis bonus to Arcana checks?

Clerics get the Thaumaturge feature. Druids get the Magician feature. Both give + wis mod bonus to arcana checks. When multiclassed do you get to add your wisdom modifier twice to arcana checks? EDIT: Made the question more clear.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2nd level casters are disappoint

IMO all level 1-2 Full Casters are lacking now if just looking at their class features. The wizard being very lacking and bard maybe moreso at those levels. That said, magic initiate essentially gives them an extra cast of some really good spells and access to really good spells not on their...
