    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

how exactly isn’t it true? Did you not go feature by feature down the Barbarian and say something negative about each unless there was no change?

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

Framing it as your opinion is invalid without experience isn’t criticizing the criticism though… I agree. My only point toward you was that requiring experience to criticize something doesn’t make sense. The points rise or fall independent of one’s experience.

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

IMO if your critique is going to be filled with points about stuff as weak as Barbarian Weapon Mastery restrictions then it’s probably in your interest not to post those critiques as a bunch of weak sauce critiques usually undermines your credibility on the more important ones. To be fair, your...

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I don’t think it’s logical to dismiss criticism simply because of lack of experience. To me that comes across as a lazy dismissal.

Seems fairly lackluster before level 7?

Then the same applies to Sorcerers. Do you really feel that way about your S tier class?

that also means you cannot assume someone else good at charisma skills is not also in the party as there’s a lot of possibilities there.

Level 1 Wizard vs level 1 Sorcerer. Sorcerer gets 4 cantrips, 2 spells known, 2 spell slots and Innate Sorcery. Wizard gets 3 cantrips, 6 spells known, 4 prepared. Ritual Casting of non-prepared spells. 2 spell slots + 1 from Arcane recovery and a better spell list. I think Wizard is better...

I think you just want everything to be a full caster with a sword ;)

Until they get deflect attacks at level 3 they can fill a bit squishy compared to most other classes. For martials their damage is often a bit lower in comparison. Many of their needed defensive features kick in a little late. Like their save bonuses. If it was a high level campaign I’d...

Will there ever be new editions of the major systems?

I think you think stranger things is much bigger than it is.

yep. Subclasses even at level 3 tie to much into your level 1 decisions. Both mechanical and narrative. Like pre choosing your subclass helps on both but if your doing that then why not just pick at level 1.

They are just weird. They get nothing special. For Paladin they fine tuned all the mechanics to work with him attacking while still leaving open the option of casting normal spells while layering on actual good class abilities. Ranger they gave half casting and basically nothing else. I...

My Rankings A Tier - The best of the best at many different things, very minimal major weaknesses Sorcerer, Druid, Cleric - all very efficient, have answers for most scenarios, and starts and finishes strong in the level 1-12 range. B Tier - very good in multiple areas, generally less...

I love Barbarians and find them incredibly fun to play but they lack quite a bit of versatility. I will add that due to thrown weapons working with reckless attack rage damage increase and beserker/zealot damage increases that they actually can throw javelins fairly far without disadvantage and...

I think I also disagree on the Rogues. They are the worst at combat but it's not like their damage output is horrendous, it's just not typically as good as the other martials without major hoops that might not work. But they are the undisputed skill kings due to reliable talent + expertise...

I think Bard being S is my biggest disagreement. He has extremely low AC, unless you use magic initiate to fix it with shield spell or valor subclass. Bardic inspiration isn't retroactive (as in you cannot grant it out of combat after a roll is called for) and is very limited in tier 1 (which...
