    Warduke mini?

Nice idea, although they may compare numbers of old-timers vs. newcomers and wonder how many will get misty-eyed enough to make the purchase. Then again, if they make 'em well enough others may want 'em.

    Another "second-guess the paladin" thread

There's a difference between harsh (but fair) and cruel, just as there's a difference between bad and worse. The hired thugs got off easy, with no permanent debilitating effects. there was no cruelty involved on your character's part. Personally I think the others in your group are suffering...

    Map Folio I Contents

What can I say, I like maps on shiny paper for under $10. :) Yep, you can buy dice, an adventure accessory...or a map folio. Ahh the joy of choice. Typically, we buy something because of its utility. For those who have laser printers (or can whip up maps on CC in a jiff), this wouldn't be...

    Map Folio I Contents

Umm, gee, let's see.... A) You don't have to pay for new ink cartridges for your printer because ~viola~ they're already printed out in the Map Folio I. (Printing in color will use 'em up, although I've done some in grayscale.) B) Beats making your own maps on graph paper (or even using...

    Why aren't paladins liked?

Which is why it's a good idea to tie paladins to various L/G orders within a campaign setting. Heraldic (sp?) devices linked to such orders go a long way towards eliminating confusion.

    Why aren't paladins liked?

Or a Clr 2/Ftr 3. In any case I prefer the prestige paladin and wouldn't mind seeing the blackguard as a 15-level Prc.

    Complete Arcane

Complete Stealth, Complete Covert, Complete Adventurer (unlikely but hey...)...Complete Rogue? Too easy, I suppose, except that it balances nicely against Complete Warrior (in the same way Complete Arcane does against Complete Divine). It would be the only book of the four to use a class name...

    Why aren't paladins liked?

My take on the matter is that too many people have the (negative) view that paladins are supposed to be either arrogrant or the Dudley Do-Right type. So, when they choose to play a paladin they push that as their character's defiing aspect. This also ties into the notion of Lawful Good as being...

    Complete Arcane

There will be plenty of interesting/revamped PrC's, I'm betting... The wu jen, elemental savant, war mage, true necromancer, , pale master...Hmm, what else?

    Gary Gygax health update

Good luck to Gary and his goal of a complete recovery. Also, may the C&C project he's involved with manage to get completed on-time. (Considering I just got a practically new copy of the 1e AD&D Player's Handbook in the mail, can't help but wish him well with anything that has an old-school game...

The Price of RPGs: You think the US is bad...

Companies like Amazon.com, buy.com, etc. can afford to keep costs lower since A) they buy in larger quantities and B) people manage to get around local sales tax by ordering out-of-state (in the US) or out-of-country altogether (e.g., Europe). Depending on the country, sales tax and import...

Castle Zagyg coming in 5-8 parts

Pillsbury Dough Golem? Wasn't that in the (irrevocably awful) Castle Greyhawk accessory? Greyhawk Ruins itself wasn't bad, although I'm definitely more interested in seeing something authentic by gary & Rob.

Does AU mix well will Core 3.5 Ed?

I bought it last year, liked it, but after a while I realized I wouldn't use most of the classes, etc...The problem for me was that most of the core AU classes looked better as prestige classes. Not knocking the concept, just saying that there will be less utility for someone who plans on...

Bottled Imp Games presents The Lords of the Night: Zombies

If there's one thing I'd like to see in a LotN: Vamps collected HC, it would be to see each vampire type in MM format with the stats from the table directly underneath, not in the back of the book as it is in the softcover. *nod* Either way, will keep a look-out for new products in the months...

Dungeon Crawl Classics: New Erol Otus Art, New Releases, More

I have a soft spot for Erol Otus and his work, starting with the Basic and Expert D&D sets (pre-Elmore editions). I once wrote and asked about 'em but he said they disappeared sometimed during TSR's existence (I'm paraphrasing). This, along with collecting the classics, is the next best thing.

Bottled Imp Games presents The Lords of the Night: Zombies

Here's a non-zombie question for the blokes at Bottled Imp Games: Will we ever see a hardcover comprising the better parts of LotN: Vampires, etc.? Not that it wasn't all great, but I imagine a revised hardcover with tighter text and general streamlining would be nice to have. :)

Forgotten Realms: Players Guide to Faerun

The player's Guide to Faerun is a 192-page hardcover from WotC that just hit the shelves Friday (in the States anyway, apparently gamers in Germany recieved their copies earlier). Written by Rich baker, travis Stout, and James Wyatt, PGtF was written in order to update previous FR material (both...

    Variant witches--Mongoose or Malhavoc version?

Well I did it, turned the AU witch into an 'umbrella' prestige class called the Witch Lord, comprising the six types (wood witch, sea witch, etc.)...dropped the BAB to put it in line with Mongoose's and changed references to a Wisdom modifier to Charisma instead (since Mongoose's core version...

D&D 3.x Book of Hallowed Might, version 3.5 changes?

I kinda took a look and here's what the (3.5'd) BoHM says: "This book is a new edition of the previously published version of The Book of Hallowed Might. In this edition, we have updated the material to conform to the v. 3.5 revision of the core rules, corrected a few typos, included some...
