What's her Flaw? Can that be worked to draw other players into taking her less for granted?

Here's a thought: Steal some of the features of the bulette (MM p.34), but rework the stats to be CR-appropriate for the PC party's level, and re-skin it (re-shell it?) with the Martial Arts Adept (VGtM p.216).

Yes; ranged spell attack. Also, as others mentioned above, make it a 2nd-level spell. There's Earned Wisdom, and there's Received Wisdom. Your example is the former; sharing it with the rest of us is the latter. Thank you for taking the bullet for the rest of us on that experience!

Add another to the list: Agents of S.W.I.N.G. by James Desborough, Postmortem Studios, built on the FATE system. Setting is in the 1960s. I've played in two adventures, and enjoyed both of them.
