Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Mu husband can't stand Winn. He'd groan everytime she'd make an appearance and definitely not in a "love to hate way." Just hate. 😂

I am surprised I am still excited for Daggerheart

I was thinking this too. I believe that it'd be a great fit.

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

Struggling through Voyager. It's frustrating because it had potential that it couldn't reach. I am enjoying Jeri Ryan's portrayal of Seven, however.

I am surprised I am still excited for Daggerheart

The print size is a little bit on the small size, so you made a good decision. Cards come in a lovely large box with magnetic lid so probably wouldn't get lost. Course, I'm really good at losing things myself, so I get it. 😉 Haven't read the book thoroughly yet, but my husband and I went...

I am surprised I am still excited for Daggerheart

Daggerheart just arrived on my doorstep! It's a beautiful book. Love the magnetic slipcase the cards come in. I'm a little bit sorry we didn't get the deluxe set, but just a little. The price is really good and we did not wait extra time for it to arrive in Canada!

    I’m playing Pendragon!

I ran Pendragon many years ago. We had a great time. Got as far as the children of first knights becoming knights themselves, which was fun. Also, going through numerous squires, who'd then go on an be knighted was cool. I remember one knight's first squire being well mannered, loyal and an...

    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

You can start characters with max hitpoints. Use the pulp mode, which gives characters more luck tokens. And you absolutely don't have to play in dank dungeons.

    Happy Mother's Day

Ahh, of course. Sorry. I just looked at a date. Ours changes too so it's on second Sunday in May. Just stupid brain glitch. I like Sun before Easter.

    Happy Mother's Day

UK celebrates it on March 30. I looked it up. In Canada, it's nice to have it in May, so we're not still covered in snow. 😉

    Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the geeky moms out there. Forget the flowers, I received a lovely dice box and dice (that have flowers and bees on them.) 💐🐝

Spoilers Star Trek: Deep Space Nine

It's a persistent myth that was still going fairly strong in the 90s. And Star Trek and science have kind of heard about each other, maybe. 😂

    Old Lady Gamer

I know. Often, I find myself thinking (or yelling) how do you not know about this? Then I meet a young person who's in love with Earthsea or Lloyd Alexander and I feel better.

That long ago? I guess I can feel smug about my insistence that the activity was boring and really not needed. Ah ha, see it has been totally wiped out!

    Old Lady Gamer

I was listening to The Eldritch Lore Cast and their young guest was surprised and taken aback that players used to have to assign a mapper to map out the dungeon environment as they explored. I get that this has faded, and no problems here. I hated mapping. But to not even know about the...

RPGs will soon be listed as activities found at senior citizen rec centres and retirement villas. Cause honestly, who plays whist anymore? 😂

D&D General When We Were Wizards: Review of the Completed Podcast!

I believe Snarf is just trying to demonstrate that the simple narrative of Gygax vs. Evil Lorraine is not correct. He's saying that once you dive into the history, events are not so simple. If it seems that Snarf is showing bias, it's just that he's defending her against that narrative. I don't...

D&D General The First Demise of TSR: Gygax's Folly

Gygax was complicated. He worked very hard to support his family at the insurance company and then escaped into wargaming on the weekends. Kinda understandable. He lost his job, maybe from using the company's equipment for his hobby? We'll never really know. Then, poverty, a struggling cobbler...

    Old Lady Gamer

I've been gaming for decades. I'm grey and semi-retired now and I've been noticing that when I pop into game stores or stop by vendor booths, things are changing. I'm receiving gentle advice, as if I've maybe wandered into the wrong store or need help, so I don't purchase the wrong thing for a...
