Ruins of Symbaroum [5E] - The Promised Land: An Interview With Free League Publishing

In 2016, WotC released a System Reference Document (SRD) for 5e under the Open Gaming License. That is how all of the various different third party publishers release settings and rule books for Fifth Edition. As long as it is in the SRD it is fair game.

Ruins of Symbaroum [5E] - The Promised Land: An Interview With Free League Publishing

The Starter Set goes to 6th level because we found that provided a good sampling of each of the provided Approaches. The complete game will offer many more options and full set of rules up to 20th level. A GM can choose, of course, to cut off a planned campaign at a lower level but since rests...

Ruins of Symbaroum [5E] - The Promised Land: An Interview With Free League Publishing

As Lilja pointed out, we're doing a lot in the system to give folks choices. Now, we love the original system too and Ruins of Symbaroum will have lots of familiar touchstones for 5e players, but it also will present a lot of choices for players to bring their characters to life. As said above...

A very awesome YouTube video for Beowulf from On Tabletop.

We are fully funded! Project BEOWULF is a go. Which is good, because we've already spent quite some time on it. :)

Warhammer's Age of Sigmar: Soulbound Is Here!

Yep, the Starter Set should be out pretty soon. It includes a Guide to Brightspear with a tonne of adventure hooks, pregenerated characters, a fully-detailed starting adventure and lots of helpful references and tokens for use in the game.

WotC Hasbro Reports First Quarter Earnings

I so wish that the game had gotten the expansions it was so clearly designed for.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Revisits Psionics

Good to know. Obviously it doesn't read that way, but it's an easy fix.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Revisits Psionics

That seems very straightforward. Can you return it to its original size when it is a d4? sure. But can you restore it after you roll that 4 on the d4? no takebacks, it's gone.

Unearthed Arcana Unearthed Arcana Revisits Psionics

Nope. You lose it until you take a long rest. Which means when to use that bonus action to restore the d4 back to its starting size is a gamble, which is nice.

Take A Peek Inside Warhammer 40K: Wrath & Glory!

The rules are essentially the same. The rulebook has been cleaned up, reorganised and has new graphics and art to get you into the feel of 40k. A few bits and bobs that only appeared in weird places (e.g. on a reference card) have now been integrated into the core rules. For clarity's sake...

    D&D 5E (2014) Beowulf 5E: The Hermit's Sanctuary Free Adventure

LOL. The name was chosen months and months ago, but, yeah, it does seem to be appropriate.

    D&D 5E (2024) What will D&D 6th edition be like?

The OGL and SRD 5.1 exists. That barn door cannot be closed (the OGL is irrevocable). Sure, there are limitations, just like what Paizo had to handle with 3.5. But they fairly easily got around them and someone else could as well. Any move by WotC has to take into consideration the fact that...

D&D 5E (2014) Dragon + is (probably) coming this or next week... and with it the next D&D book announcement

That just sounds like they're going to do a deeper preview of the Wildemount book, unless they've specifically been working on something else. That feels more like 'every time we interview someone this year, we'll try to remember to ask this question' kind of thing that will probably fade away...

Critical Role Explorer's Guide to Wildemount Rockets to #1 In 'All Books' on Amazon

You might watch something like this animatic: It's from fairly early in Campaign 2, but it takes something that would be a tension point for most groups (the party rogue stealing from another member) and turns it into serious character-building (I won't spoil Nott's reasoning, but this is from...

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

I think you mentioned that you hadn't checked out the Essential Kit yet? That's a collection of small adventures (1-4 pages) that are geographically linked (and there's some story links too) that comes with free D&D Beyond version and additional adventures. It sounds just like what you want...

Critical Role The New D&D Book Is 'The Explorer's Guide to [Critical Role's] Wildemount!' By Matt Mercer

Regarding the maps, here's one of the official maps for the campaign: I imagine we will get a full continent map by the same cartographer (Deven Rue), since she's already done one of the Menagerie Coast as well.
