    D&D 5E (2014) Recommendations for a 5e 3rd party adventure path?

If you like The Tome of Beasts, which is made by Kobold Press, you should check out the adventures they have in their Midgard setting. As someone mentioned, the Courts of the Shadow Fey is a proper full length adventure path. There is also Tales from the Old Margreve which has 12 Adventures...

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk, and race options for Oerth PCs

Yes, but now you're taking my quote waaaay out of context with crazy exaggerations. I mean within the bounds of D&D. I really like Tabaxi. So naturally I was quite bummed when my friend said there were no Tabaxi in his homebrew world. However, he still has drow and tieflings and dragonborn et al...

D&D 5E (2014) Greyhawk, and race options for Oerth PCs

Well I wouldn't place any hard and fast restrictions, but being a new generation of D&D Player I also don't have any ties to the simpler older version of Greyhawk. Here's how I would handle it. Fantasy Standards (Elves,Dwarves, Humans, etc.) are fine, no need to change anything here...

Critical Role Wildemount: Most Pre-orders Since D&D Core Rulebooks

I'm quite excited for this setting. I am a fan of Critical Role certainly, but having followed the show Matt's world of Exandria fills most of the standard D&D tropes. He has his own flair of course, but it could be a great alternative to Forgotten Realms or Greyhawk, delivering the 'classic'...

D&D 5E (2014) If Psion is fixed and official does it belong into FR as basic and RAW?

I see no issue with them being a standard option for FR but labelled with that "uncommon" brush that Dragonborn and Tieflings get in the PHB. Most people just ignore that anyway so its really just there for DMs who want more nuance.

Critical Role Matt Mercer Speaks About The Wildemount Book

Matt being such a humble and heartwarming individual again. I am likely to pick this book up. I'm not in a position to run a game in it any time soon (Currently in Midgard, with Eberron watching from my shelf) but I am a fan and do enjoy Matt's world-building.

Critical Role Here's The Official Wildemount Announcement!

As a fairly devout Critter, I can't say I really know what the Echo Knight is. I expected the Way of the Cobalt Soul for Monks though they may have released that on D&D Beyond or DMs Guild already.

D&D General Whatever Happened to D&D's Sea Serpent?

Huh, I can't say I ever noticed this glaring omission, but it does make sense to me. Aside from campaigns that are specifically nautical, like a Pirate game or the Saltmarsh Collection, purely aquatic monsters are unlikely to be encountered and even less so ones that only live at sea. In 5-6...

D&D 5E (2014) Would you play D&D if you knew there would be no combat?

No, in my opinion part of what makes D&D what it is, is combat. I'll be honest, as much as I love character development and bantering with the party, if too much time goes by without a combat I start to get bored. That isn't to say I wouldn't like to play an RPG without combat. It would just...

The One Ring Might Not Be Dead

Very hopeful! I hope they managed to work out their deal with Cubicle 7, or if not that they can reuse some of the art. I was in love with that Jared Blando map.

D&D General 10 Adventures to Make You a Better DM.

Great list. If there is one thing I've noticed about some newer 5e adventures (Storm King's Thunder, Princes of the Apocalypse, Tomb of Annihilation) is that they lack a good home base. I'm sure you could establish one if you tried, but it doesn't come naturally like LMoP or other adventures...

Look At This Gorgeous Map For The One Ring 2E!

Cubicle 7 is really great about including their maps either as separate files or allowing you to extract a high res version from the book. I'm sure there will be a physical one for sale as well as the files included with the PDF if The One Ring and WArhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e are anything to...

D&D 5E (2014) Requiring players to know their character

I think it depends on your group. Only you know what these players are like. While I think it is reasonable for a GM to expect their players to know their abilities, it comes down to the individuals on whether or not they will take that piece of advice well or not. Though I think if you say it...

D&D General How common are adventurers?

I would say it depends on the world. For example, I'd say a standard High Fantasy world such as Greyhawk or Forgotten Realms would probably be in the 'Not Unheard of' category by default, with variation based on personal preference. Golarion from Pathfinder has a world-wide guild called the...

    D&D 5E (2014) Best and worst of 5E

Gonna seperate this between Rulebooks and adventures. Best Book, IMO: It's a huge toss-up between Volo's Guide to Monsters and Xanathar's Guide to Everything. Both books delibered exactly what I wanted, new races, new classes, new monsters and new rules. I like almost everything about those...

D&D 5E (2014) (5e Eberron) any monsters associated with the Mournland?

The 3rd Edition Eberron Campaign Setting has a small monster section in the back, which features a few monsters others have already said such as the Carcass Crab and Living Spells. Another 3rd Edition Eberron book, Five Nations, features a whole section on the Mournland including several...

    D&D 5E (2014) DnDBeyond: on adapting genre to D&D

I agree that D&D is not the best game for every genre or setting. Sure, you technically could adjust the rules for D&D to fit any style of setting or genre. However I do not always think that is as easy as it seems, or as some people say. (Your mileage may vary, this is my opinion.) There are...

Pathfinder 2E Changes from the Playtest?

Unfortunately I don't know many of the specific details either, but from what I can tell the two games are very similar. Many minor changes have been worked across the board and from what I can tell the reception of the Core Book of 2e is much better than that of the Playtest. If you utterly...

Who brings food? The GM or the Players?

If somebody is cooking, or stocking drinks like sodas, etc it falls to the host in my group. I.e. whoever's house it is. This is often, but not always, the person who is the GM. If we order takeout as opposed to cooking, then we usually take turns on who pays. I do have a Bring Your Own Beer...
