Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

Sounds like you can for sure talk to them before that. The feature just gives you a direct link that you can use at any time. Also Warlock's probably know who their patron is before level 3.

D&D General Legends of Greyhawk: anyone talking about this at all?

It’s supposed to hit wider availability in 2026 from memory. It’s mostly exclusive to conventions right now. I almost got to DM it, but I couldn’t make the convention in Canada in the end.

Don’t know why people are suddenly down on Planescape that was good. Spelljammer’s problem was it’s length over it’s content.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

I don’t think the original book ever mentioned his actual name, and even when it was revealed the number of people who it are a little over a dozen. To basically everyone he is just “The Dragon”

Also the Dragon doesn’t require them for upkeep in the most recent version.

The Dragon is just a higher level Sorcerer King that the others are aspiring to be like. Two of the other Sorcerer Kings are already almost another Dragon. Dregoth, and Nibenay

I think 4e did it pretty well in setting it after the death of the Sorcerer King of Tyr, but before anything else like the death of the Dragon.

    D&D General 6E But A + Thread

I would like to see a 6e but I don’t expect it for quite a long time.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases New Unearthed Arcana Subclasses, Strongly Hinting at Dark Sun

A big flaw was the novels resolving a bunch of plot lines for the game, then the game getting updated to reflect them a few years in. Remember the Dragon? Well he’s dead now.
