    NPC Deception/Persuasion and player agency

The crosses are for when they want to hide the truth of who they really work for.

    D&D 5E (2014) Skill Ranking

I'm not sure if I follow this line of reasoning. Who decides it's more valuable to be the guy who remembers things about magic and the other planes than it is to be the guy who remembers things about the natural world, or the guy who can navigate, track, hunt, and forage, or the guy who can keep...

    NPC Deception/Persuasion and player agency

Is this for a D&D game? 5th Edition? If so, you are correct that "you believe them" is not the best way to narrate a successful result of an NPC's check. In fact, if a PC's belief is in doubt, rather than call for a check, the player has the authority to decide one way or the other because they...

    D&D 5E (2014) Skill Ranking

D&D 5E (2014) Is Intimidate the worse skill in the game?

    D&D 5E (2014) Help with kids game…

This sounds like a 400 XP encounter, assuming three zombies, so it's a medium difficulty encounter and well within the daily budget for a party of four 3rd-level characters. Depending on how fresh they are, they should be fine.

D&D 5E (2014) Moving out of an enemy creature's space

Yes, moving out is allowed. Conceptually, moving through a space is entering that space, so entering a space with difficult terrain costs two spaces of speed whereas entering a normal space only costs one.

AD&D 1E What was the reason for Demihuman level and class limits in AD&D?

My feeling about the class and level limitations, which go back to OD&D, is they're intended to promote a narrative in which demihumans are in a supportive role as avuncular tutors and helpers to humans who are the main heroes. Gimli and Legolas to Aragorn being an example from fiction. Beleg to...
