D&D General Beadle & Grimms Forgotten Realms Premium Map Collection

I didn’t put that together, but it is somewhat accurate from what we have seen. All 4 of the “regional” backgrounds we saw at GenCon used preexisting feats like Magic initiate, tough, and savage attacker, while both faction backgrounds gave unique feats. Doesn’t likely hold true in the...

Unearthed Arcana New Psion update, Dungeons and Dragons Unearthed Arcana

It really isn’t about what people remember. Over half of D&D players today started with 5e. To them, new Dark Sun books might as well be entirely a new setting for them to explore. If you include a large collection of adventures and detail out a couple of regions, you can easily fill a DM...

Unearthed Arcana New Psion update, Dungeons and Dragons Unearthed Arcana

Silvery Barbs is a pretty simple fix at my tables. MtG content isn’t allowed outside of the MtG settings.

Unearthed Arcana New Psion update, Dungeons and Dragons Unearthed Arcana

Think it’s more likely they are giving big settings the FR treatment. Heroes book and an adventure book. Forgotten Realms this year, Darksun next year, etc.

D&D General Beadle & Grimms Forgotten Realms Premium Map Collection

This is a smaller portion of a map that shows a Moonwell in the Moonshae Isles. We got to play on this map at GenCon for a preview game.

D&D General Beadle & Grimms Forgotten Realms Premium Map Collection

We see Magic Initiate Druid on Moonwell Pilgrim (Trackless Sea) and Magic Initiate Wizard on Genie Touched (Lands of Intrigue). Certainly possible we see some repeats but I would definitely bet one of the remaining options gives Magic Initiate Cleric.

D&D General Beadle & Grimms Forgotten Realms Premium Map Collection

I also want to point out the DM Screen confirms the Purple Dragon Knights now ride Amethyst Dragons. The Faction blurb says the order made a pact with them a decade ago, which would be around 1491 since we know the current year in the books is 1501. Edit: which makes me wonder if the PDK...

D&D Debuts Playtest for Psion Class

So… it looks like even though the survey for the Arcane Subclasses is closing today, we are already getting a new UA if not this week, then next week. Expect a revision of the Psion to drop sometime within the next week.

D&D General Beadle & Grimms Forgotten Realms Premium Map Collection

Beadle & Grimms is selling a collection of maps from the upcoming Adventures in Fearun D&D Hardcover, and the preview page reveals the 10 regions the two FR books will cover in the Gazetteer. Anauroch Arcane Empires Forgotten Lands Heartlands Lands of Intrigue The North Old Empires Sword Coast...

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

They have already tested one Tasha’s subclass. It’s not unprecedented. But they also haven’t had a theme to retest the problem children (Twilight and Peace Cleric, for example).

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

Well, not most of it. But some subclasses certainly need a rework.

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

They likely kept it in multiples of 16 for future proofing in case they ever make this a print product in the future. If they get great reception and a flood of requests for physical, it’ll likely happen.

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

It comes out this November. It won’t be playtested. At least not publicly. It isn’t a big product. “Lorwyn: First Light arrives on D&D Beyond on November 18, 2025. Gather your party, roll for initiative, and discover what secrets lie in the twilight of Lorwyn.” From the Planewalkers article...

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

But I’m not talking about Ravnica or Theros or Strixhaven. I’m talking about Lorwyn, which is not getting a physical book like the other products, nor does it seem to have anywhere near the amount of crunch based on the article. It’s 1 species and monster stat blocks. It’s closer to the Eldraine...

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

Yes, but the only reason that is the case is because said passionate designer, who used to be in the MtG team, is now one of the senior designers on the D&D team. The only thing separating the “official” designations of the Planeshift products vs this one is where the designers desk is located...

Dungeons & Dragons to Release Lorwyn: First Light, a New Digital Expansion Based on Magic: The Gathering World

So not a full Lorwyn book, but another digital expansion like the old Planeshift articles or the upcoming FR expansions. Interesting.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases Updated Unearthed Arcana for Arcane Subclasses

They did this same thing for the Apocalypse subclasses UA. This is what they replaced the design insight videos with now that Todd Kenrick has been let go.

Dungeons & Dragons Releases Updated Unearthed Arcana for Arcane Subclasses

As a DM, if your high level Necromancer is taking too long a turn that is the DMs fault. Just talk to the Necromancer and tell them they need to use the mob rules.
