They already confirmed the PDK are in the book and that they are a full faction you can join and gain renown for. They were not a small part of the book nor were they easy to cut out.

Considering the faction in the books still have a relationship with Amethyst Dragons but now the players don’t get to participate with the subclass, I am sure they will be over the moon.

Actually yes, the 8 factions in the books are all getting backgrounds. Harper’s, Emerald Enclave, Zents, even the Cult of the Dragon and the Red Wizards.

We don’t actually know if the overwhelming feedback was anti-lore related. For all we know, most survey takers don’t actually mind it and just had a separate issue with the subclass mechanics.

Speak for yourself. I love the lore change. If only the Subclass got to keep the pet.

They changed the lore but the Banneret didn’t keep the dragon mechanic.

PDK is a background now. Its origin feat is called “Purple Dragon Rook” and gives them a rallying cry that can be used when rolling initiative to give up to two allies heroic inspiration.
