D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

Conjure Constructs not being on the Artificer Spell list is because the class was not out by the time the Faerun books were printed. My guess is that the next "Of Everything" book that will likely reprint some setting-specific game mechanics in a setting-neutral space will add it and possibly...

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

That is not what Familiars are in D&D. They can be fiends, but they can also be celestials or fey. They are not evil inherently.

D&D 5E (2024) Homunculus Servant, Conjure Constructs, Deryan's Helpful Homunculi have class restrictions that make no sense

This is not the character the spell is referencing. It’s referencing Deryan Kaya, the Artificer from the Calimshan section of the Adventures in Faerun book.

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

I really don’t understand this sentiment (not coming from you, but the community as a whole). I think the Armorer is probably the second best Artificer Subclass in 2024 still. My main confusion comes down to how people are treating the level 9 feature. By my read, it basically functions the...

D&D General Frustating Misunderstandings About Warlocks

I enjoy TreantMonk for what he is. He’s the best “optimizer” YouTuber as far as I’m concerned, even if he has his flaws. But I like that he isn’t a dick about his opinions and is both accepting and supportive of people playing in unoptimal ways. Never particularly liked the Dungeon Dudes. I...

D&D 5E (2024) [Eberron, 5th Edition] A comparison of the 2020 Tasha's Artificer to the 2025 Forge of the Artificer

I’m just telling you what the mods on the Beyond forum have said. Only spells that directly reference being on the spell list in the spell entry will be added.

D&D 5E (2024) [Eberron, 5th Edition] A comparison of the 2020 Tasha's Artificer to the 2025 Forge of the Artificer

They likely won’t be bringing the Xanathar ones. They have said they are only adding spells to the Artificer list if the spell itself lists Artificer as a class for the spell. The Xanathar spells (at least those that haven’t been reprinted) don’t list any class in their description, this was a...

D&D 5E (2024) [Eberron, 5th Edition] A comparison of the 2020 Tasha's Artificer to the 2025 Forge of the Artificer

Some critiques of your critiques: The 2025 Artificer gets prestidigitation, which functionally replicates the old magical tinkering function. They have not lost that ability, it was just moved to a cantrip. You said the 2025 Artificer lost spells like the Tasha’s Blade Cantrips and Intellect...

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

I’m not convinced these are comparable. Nothing in the Demon Armor says the claws count as their own simple weapon, which is specifically called out in the Armorer. And while the Armorer description mentions the weapons as part of the armor, it still calls them weapons. I don’t see how this...

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Hmm I stand corrected. Though I stand by my sentiment since they errata’d the Dhampir. Seems like that’s them acknowledging the unintended interaction.

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

Yes but species natural weapons do not say they “count as a simple weapon,” which is what all three of the Armorer weapons say. So just, make +1 Thunder Gauntlets and take the ones on your armor off, put the new ones on, and profit. Nothing in the Armorer rules I can see say the weapons can’t be...

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

A serious question: what in the 2024 rules prevents the Armorer from making their weapon a +1 or +2 weapon? Their replicate feature lets them make any Weapon, +1. The Weapon +1 page in the DMG says any simple or martial weapon is applicable. Their Armorer weapons all say the weapons count as...

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

You’re misreading the Cartographers level 5 ability. It gives extra damage when they: Cast a spell from their Cartographers spell list (this includes Call Lightning). Hit with an attack roll against a FF’d target (this includes spell attacks like True Strike and Firebolt). So a Cartographer...

D&D General Species of Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

This was retconned years ago, as it’s how the Changeling was presented in Monsters of the Multiverse.

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

There’s some very cool new facilities, including an Artificer specific forge that can craft magic items and another forge that can even craft a Warforged Titan. And yes there’s rules for having an Airship or even a Lightning Rail be your bastion.

D&D 5E (2024) What's New with the Artificer in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer

They are basically all Humanoid NPC stat blocks. Ones for each Dragonmark house, the Drow from the one jungle area I can’t remember the name of, some Boromar and Daask enemies, etc. Pretty sure every stat block in the book is humanoid.
