D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

This is a bit overly nostalgic in the view of 2E/3E era products. There has never been a consistent meta plot or even any form of accuracy regarding realms events across different mediums, outside of the series themselves. The Elminster books aren’t reacting to the Drizzt books aren’t reacting...

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

Truly cannot wrap my head around how someone arrives to this conclusion. These two books are probably my favorites in all of 5e outside of the core rules.

Dhampir and Other Species To Be Included in Astarion's Book of Hungers

I think I’m more… intrigued? I felt like I knew a good amount on what to expect for the two hardcovers but I have very little idea of what to expect for the DLCs.

Dhampir and Other Species To Be Included in Astarion's Book of Hungers

Two of them are. The Lorwyn book is the week after.

D&D General More Details Revealed for Forgotten Realms Digital Expansions

The DLCs come in the Digital Bundle iirc.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

What exactly makes you think any of that is true? It goes against all the things they have said and the trends we have seen.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

They have never said these books were made to tie in with Sigil, nor have they said they won’t do more setting books. In fact they’ve said the opposite, saying settings were their focus going forward and even hiring positions specifically for developing settings. Hell we even have another...

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

And two UAs on the Psion. It may not happen, but there’s plenty of reason to believe it is a possibility.

DDAL Organized Play Update: Forgotten Realms (and Legends of Greyhawk)

I agree more options is always nice. But not at the expense of the Renown and Factions system, which is more player options and in ways that tie to the campaign directly. I hope the way Renown and Factions are presented here are the standard for Setting books going forward. I’m happy to see...

DDAL Organized Play Update: Forgotten Realms (and Legends of Greyhawk)

Hard disagree. The Faction system is the thing my players are most excited to try in our next campaign.

Unearthed Arcana WOTC still can't get the backgrounds right in the new FR book.

Every table should be tilted to… checks notes… having fun. That’s the point of the game. If your table thinks “fun” is number crunching and finding optimized builds, you have options to do that. If your table thinks “fun” is dumping charisma on a party face and seeing what chaos happens when...

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

I've run Mad Mage. It is far from a bad adventure. Regardless, people do not go out of their way to buy higher-level books.

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

High-level adventures do not sell well. https://www.enworld.org/threads/5e-lifetime-sales-in-north-american-big-box-stores-revealed.698946/ This 2023 post broke down sales for 5e books. When listing out what adventures sold, Curse of Strahd (one of the lowest-level range adventures) sold the...

    D&D 5E (2024) Predict WotC's 2026 D&D releases

Putting down a new guess: Q1: Adventure Anthology set in the Domains of Dread (Ravenloft) Q2: Ravenloft: Heroes of Dread (Smaller, think Forge of the Artificer, as a companion to Van Richten's) Q3: Tasha's Heroes of the Multiverse (Xanathar's and Tasha's reprint book) Q4: Dark Sun Duology...

    D&D 5E (2024) Forgotten Realms subclasses discussion.

It doesn’t need to scale though? You’re still using Moonbeam, throwing around free healing, and can still use BA spells to throw more healing if needed. Scaling features don’t matter nearly as much on a full caster as they do on Martial characters. They already scale great by being a full caster.

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

This! In addition to pointing fans to the D&D movie, Baldur’s Gate games, Drizzt Novels, and older Faerun adventure paths, there’s a section in the books that specifically tells people to go to the Wiki page for even more lore that they couldn’t fit here.

D&D General Initial Thoughts on the Two 2025 Forgotten Realms books

The Icewind Dale section covers a bit about the Underdark, which plays a big role in the meta plot of the region. But there isn’t like a “Underdark Gazette,” no.

New Unearthed Arcana Brings Back Five Subclasses

In some cases yes. But there’s also content for those books that never got carried over to the setting agnostic books, like the Warforged or Leonin species. Gladiator Fighter I could see coming over to an Everything book, but stuff like the Sorcerer King Warlock Patron likely wouldn’t be...

New Unearthed Arcana Brings Back Five Subclasses

Still very confident the new class (Psion) is for Dark Sun still, as are the “Apocolyptic Subclasses.” Everything else definitely feels “Everything” like.
