D&D 5E (2014) Anyone use the new Dungeon Tiles with Tomb of Annihiliation?

I'm currently DMing Tomb of Annihilation. I don't need 100% square-for-square verisimilitude with the book maps, but I'm wondering how the new Dungeon Tiles would work for: The Fane of the Night Serpent and the Tomb of the Nine Gods

Coming in May: Mordenkainen's Tome of Foes! [UPDATED!]

Twelve octavos, exact same length as Xanathar's. Also, the use of greatest conflicts in the multiverse gives me a glimmer of hope that there is some proper high level material for 5e finally.

    D&D 5E (2014) End-game gimmicks: the problem with 5e meta-plots

The rate of advancement is, I suspect, a result of two factors: 1. Understandably, the player base is diverse now. Due to work/family commitments not everyone plays frequently (there's a poll somewhere); that makes no-leveling sessions unrealistic. 2. Regrettably, the MMORPGization of D&D...

    D&D 5E (2014) End-game gimmicks: the problem with 5e meta-plots

I question the 5e premise that a meta-plot is needed to engage players or make the contributions of their characters meaningful. Meta-plots hardly ever cropped up in the adventures of earlier editions and when they did, as one poster above explains, the players stumbled upon it (e.g., Queen of...

Kate Welch is WotC's New D&D Designer

In the old days, neckbeards designed products for other neckbeards. This is no longer the case with 5e. No matter how progressive and empathetic an all white, male staff may be, increasing your market beyond white males is easier if the product is not designed solely by white males. This is...

    D&D 5E (2014) End-game gimmicks: the problem with 5e meta-plots

I can't figure out how to do [/spoiler] tags on this forum so I'll just say that in the published 5e adventures either the party receives substantial buffs or the end-boss is nerfed.

    D&D 5E (2014) End-game gimmicks: the problem with 5e meta-plots

I'm currently DMing Tomb of Annihilation and before this I played through all previous 5e releases. They all have something in common: the players encounter a big boss at the end and due to their relatively low-level either the boss is nerfed or the players are significantly buffed. This is...

D&D 5E (2014) [SPOILERS] Enhancing Tomb of Annihilation

I recently substituted The Hidden Shrine of Tamoachan from Tales From the Yawning Portal for Oralunga. It worked great. Rather than a guardian naga, the players had to make it through the shrine to fight a bone naga and find an Old Omuan tablet with directions to Omu.

I'm thrilled with the care and attention that is going into this book--it's an act of preservation of our shared nerd cultural heritage as much as it is a 5th edition conversion!

D&D 5E (2014) Does Detect Magic sense a glyph of warding?

If a character has detected magic in effect then he or she senses magic within 30'. Would this include a Glyph of Warding?
