D&D 5E (2014) Why (and when) did "Adventure Paths" replace modules?

I played 1st edition AD&D from 1979 until 1989. I dabbled in 2nd edition for a year or two and then gave up on it when I went off to college/wife/job/kids. Fifth edition and a cohort of sound players brought me back. Fifth edition is outstanding--I'm a big fan. However, one thing I don't...

These awesome, free 1-2 pages adventures

Apologies if this is a repost. I stumbled upon this page through a random blog: http://blog.trilemma.com/search/label/adventure It's a collection of free 1-2 page fantasy RPG adventures. They are quality. But most interesting is the premise of creating a 1-2 page adventure. Have a read of...

    D&D 5E (2014) We need a Monster Manual II

Beleriphon, actually, they can pretty much do whatever they want with poor BMaC one it goes on the DMGuild. If I had a problem with that I wouldn't use the DM Guild. I don't actually unless I was an established RPG author, but then I wouldn't need the DMGuild. So my original post was just...

    D&D 5E (2014) We need a Monster Manual II

The monsteraday material is fabulous, but can it be used in a DMsGuild product? By posting it to DMsGuild you are giving the IP to WoTC. This is why you cannot use CC-BY-SA material.

    D&D 5E (2014) We need a Monster Manual II

Yes, agreed, but see my point above about the potential disincentive for creating source/monster material. To develop those points further, there's nothing to stop multiple authors from publishing Monster Manuals. It could easily be the case that there are two DMsGuild products that are both...

    D&D 5E (2014) We need a Monster Manual II

There is a potential problem with a DMsGuild, independently written Monster Manual II or "Guide to Silverymoon." They could be instantly invalidated if WoTC officially releases something in print. It's a disincentive for anyone to actually write such a guide, and it's a disincentive for anyone...

    D&D 5E (2014) We need a Monster Manual II

An interesting consequence of the DM Guild is that the relatively limited number of available monsters in the Monster Manual is now glaring. It is impossible to use some of the fine 3rd party supplements (e.g., Fifth Edition Foes) for material that is going up on the DM Guild. Now that WoTC...

    D&D 5E (2014) DMGuild: Adversaries & Allies: over 50 new NPCs for 5e

Progbard's spot on. That's what makes Adversaries and Allies such a useful resource if you plan on publishing your material to the DM Guild (although it's great if even if you don't plan on publishing!). You can use any of these NPCs in your DM Guild title. Very handy.

    D&D 5E (2014) A 42 page adventure for characters level 14 to 16

Cheers and certainly any feedback is appreciated! High level play testing revealed a need for encounters that are designed with environment and tactics in mind. Enclosed spaces make for great encounters against some foes, while outdoor combat is challenging against other creatures. In...

    D&D 5E (2014) A 42 page adventure for characters level 14 to 16

The Horror Under the Mountain is a substantial 60 page adventure for characters level 14 to 16. The Horror uses the DM Guild to provide an adventure that puts players up against classic monsters that have yet to make an appearance in 5th edition. It's professionally written and play tested...

D&D 5E (2014) What map of Faerun can I use for DM Guild?

I found this wonderful browser-based program. It's for world building primarily. I was able to whip up a section of the Forgotten Realms I need in about 10 minutes. www.inkarnate.com

D&D 5E (2014) What map of Faerun can I use for DM Guild?

I checked out your material and wow, those maps are great! I'm looking for something that encompasses the far north, from Silverymoon to east of the High Ice.

D&D 5E (2014) What map of Faerun can I use for DM Guild?

This replies have been very informative. Unfortunately I still dont' have a map of the Forgotten Realms to use in DM Guild submissions. I hope Wizards remedies this ASAP.

D&D 5E (2014) What map of Faerun can I use for DM Guild?

So I've got some images that are CC-BY-SA and some that are just CC-BY. The use of the latter in DM Guild seems fine, that BY-SA not so much. What a pain in the ass.

D&D 5E (2014) What map of Faerun can I use for DM Guild?

That's grim. Wikimedia commons has thousands of images that cannot be used for DM Guild. Ouch.

Oh f*&$, I can't use any CC material in DM Guild?

D&D 5E (2014) What map of Faerun can I use for DM Guild?

Has that recent huge, high-res been cleared for use in submissions to the DM Guild? I haven't seen anything to indicate that's the case.
