How Do You View The Forums?

same. I'm generally on a couple times per day, so I tend to see the new threads before they get to the next page and become lost.

D&D General The Monsters Know What They're Doing ... Are Unsure on 5e24

I found that some of the monster design was to make monsters last only a few rounds of combat. I noticed this the other day with the scout and soldier both having 3 hit dice and both having multiattack. Their other powers are meh, especially compared to PCs. They are easy to play and run and...

D&D General What You're Missing with Torches in B/X D&D

I seem to recall a C3P0 at the Ewok village thing with the wizard using cantrip to make the torches change color and had one spin in circles. I think we were captured by kobolds or goblins.

D&D General Is this homebrew item OP

@ReptartheGrand first, welcome to the boards. Second, generally anything people ask if it is too powerful- it is. I never heard of a 5e item that requires you to have a 18 stat to use. It might be a fine restriction though. It seems like it is just for rogues to be able to get a second...

    Thread block

I think it would be cool to see the number of people blocking you. Something like seeing you reaction score or your warning score.

D&D 5E (2024) What 2024 class have you played the most

We only started to dabble in 5.5e and I only played a cleric so far. The other players have a monk that he likes, an artificer which he seems neutral on, and a rogue which is not using weapon mastery for some reason.

How do you like to start a campaign

Is there any system or game within the game that helps build bonds in the session 0? I'm thinking of some dice charts or something that uses poker cards or something to help make a bit random, but leads to talk about connections.

Tell me about the RPG section of your local game store

I have never been to that one, I tend to just go the one in Worcester (Massachusetts USA). I'm thinking road trip.

    Monsters alongside humanity

I agree that making monsters into 'humans' should be a sometimes thing. I'm likely more pre-5e on this though. The world is violent and most of the time, might makes right. Nobody wants to have a tribe of orcs as their neighbor or a medusa living nearby. Same as why nobody wants to have a...

D&D General Rewarding player empathy: restoring an NPC’s wings in a starter adventure (Stormwreck Isle)

There is the side quest in the book about Hot Springs Havoc that has healing waters. The book just says you can take a soak and gain HP like you spend one hit die. Just expand the idea and have something else. The book gives you magic mushrooms that lets you not need to breath for an hour...

D&D General Rewarding player empathy: restoring an NPC’s wings in a starter adventure (Stormwreck Isle)

I was thinking the magitech idea as well. You can always add a NPC to the observatory encounter as a prisoner of the dragon. Maybe the dragon wants him to repair the telescope for the comet's arrival or something. He can add some roleplay to have the other kobolds be not that bad and...

D&D General Which species would you like to see being introduced next for 2024 D&D?

I'll be the first- 1/2 elf That's not liklt to happen, so I'll say minotaurs.

    IN REMEMBRANCE--2025

I heard on the radio that Rob put his wife in the movie When Harry met Sally and she was to just make up a line like she would say. It was the scene where Meg Ryan was in the diner and had her moment faking things. Michelle's line was "I'll have what she's having".

    Society based on Statistical Probability?

Is it more like the Vulcans in Star Trek with them all being 'logical'? Maybe more like the robots in that Will Smith movie where they saved him instead of his child or his wife in the car crash since he showed higher chance of survival? Is cold logic like this good? Like how justice is...

Tell me about the RPG section of your local game store

My FLGS doers a good job with gaming. It is a comic book store, but has a lot of things like collectables, including old items like GI Joe and Star Wars figures from the past. Magic TG is still big. DnD has a good selection of the official books and several other 3PP on the shelves. They did...

D&D General Any Dungeons/Adventures Recommendations (Netheril)

I'm making a small adventure that I'll throw on DMsGuild at some point for 12th level PCs. It involves the PCs wanting to return the bones of the death knight Emberlost from the after Icespire modules to his homeland of Anauria. The basis is that the PCs use a magic circle to get to the edge...

What Do You Need From Publishers?

For DnD, I could use some aid in making the world. Something on making towns and taverns that people remember, but also making them faster. I know there are videos and sites that talk about this, but aids that help. Something with building campaigns that tie together. I like to make...

Dungeons & Dragons (2000) was a passion project turned cinematic disaster

For those like me that could not recall which one of the awesome movies. I did like Snails, at least for a name to give one of my PCs. The movie did have dragons though.
