I think the liquid goo mentioned earlier in the thread is called Terro. I have used the stuff (you put it on small squares of cardboard and the ants take it back to the nest) and it worked great...eventually. As others have said, it takes any method a bit of time to deal with an ant colony...

If someone hands you a folding knife, you should hand it back to them in the same way when you are finished with it (if it was open when you got it, you should leave it open when you return it.) To give it back other than the way you recieved it is bad luck.

I've had too many great laugh out loud moments reading OotS to recount. I love they way they make fun of some of the rules conventions of D&D, and in particular the changes between 3E and 3.5. The "nerfing" of the halfling's weapons due to the weapon size rules in 3.5 was really funny to me...
