That was the Moonshae isles. Tethyr, Amn, and Calimshan were part of his world. Moonshaes were a separate setting made by Niles that Jeff Grubb i think added in there. Funny enough Darkwalker on Moonshae was the 1sr FR novel.

Yes its tons of fun and even better watching them, guiding them, and helping them DM and build encounters. Of course their going to get away from the traditions I've shown them but at least they'll be educated about it and not fall for the nonsense they say about how the game used to be played...

You'll note you quoted a statement not a question.

Dude I used an e instead of an i. We're on that level now? I'll be sure to reprimand my editor. If magic was IRL thats how it would work in baghdad? Very convincing argument there. I'd love to read a paper on THAT. Calimshan does not vaguely represent the greenwood calimshan. Did you read...

Yes and I thanked them for it after noting it down. :)

And? That adventure wasn't this case. Especially since the author said the setting is the "American South". The art for the adventure doesn't even suggest pseudo medieval or Renaissance.

I didn't see anyone suggest anything of the sort. Kind of reminds me of that "you hate waffles meme" everyone talks about.

I am, I speak and I work with Highly educated people everyday. I don't consider their work infallible. I would call this Calimshan section misplaced. I called it a hack job because it took the realm of Calimshan and remade it whole cloth. I'd much rather see a progression than somebody...

Then you would probably buy the things I wouldn't. Noted. Thanks for letting me know your buying pattern.

I read the entire section. THe golden age of Baghdad didn't have robots. Why is it if someone says they don't like something or thing it was changed poorly its assumed the material wasn't read? Original Calimshan was ALREADY the golden age of Baghdad. That was its point. Maybe since...

I don't buy or use any of the Magic the Gathering supplements like Ravinica or Strixhaven. I literally just found out what Silvery Barbs were yesterday when a player asked to use it. The exception is Theros I bought for my daughter because she loves Greek Mythology. But Theros was wanting on...

Yes corporate will always chase the money. But D&D specifically is quite loud about rejecting the gamers it catered to. They tell us having races of alignment is the wrong way to play. They tell us half races were the wrong way to play. They tell us dungeon crawling needs to change because...

Yeah I have to agree. I still play 5e mostly because of D&D Beyond and its easier for my daughter and her friends to recognize the tropes. Its a good system but the art direction for 2024 went off the rails. Seeing how one of the new creators of the bullpen rewrote Calimshan to be a magetech...

Thats the conclusion you drew? What's hard about this to make sense? its not hard. I dont play D&D to explore the American South. Theres better games to do that. Thats far outside the Art identity of D&D.

The shareholders claim the products that are not MTG are not being reported correctly and that MTG is being devalued. We shall see.

I see a TON of Radiant Citadel in my FLGS. They never reordered it. I have never met anyone offline with a vague interest in exploring it. Every Barnes and Noble around me has 2 copies at least on the shelves.

Magic the Gathering being used to boost quarterly sales. Claimed to be fraudulent. I was very dubious because I come here for gaming news and I couldn't find or missed the information. But my wife who controls our stocks confirmed it. And its mainstream news now.

No corporate entity with shareholders like Hasbro could survive on that revenue. Its extraordinarily niche within a niche. The current kickstarter is massively successful relatively. It needed 18K and got over 200K. That is not in the league of D&D.

With the new shareholder lawsuit the leadership will be lucky to keep their jobs. If this lawsuit is successful WOTC could be sold off in parts. Its just beginning but Chris Cox is in some trouble. Allegedly Magic sets were released to pump quarterly earnings to inflate stock price because D&D...

It was Mardi gras, cooking?, and far outside the pseudo medieval identity of D&D. There are plenty of RPGs that cover this. Of course that's easier on my wallet because it doesnt look like the new roster of designers have worked on anything I'd be vaguely interested in. Yes I've read Radant...
