    Will AI replace Dungeon Masters?

AI DMs may replace people or human DMs in the future to a limited degree, but I think you'll always have some pushback against AI being the DM by some people and some groups. A prime example is the FFG "boardgames" these days that require the use of a phone or tablet in order to play. It is...

OSR New changes are afoot for OSRIC!

Why do you think there are clones in the first place? Of course, if we went with your idea (and in some ways it's not a bad idea) then there would never be a 3e, much less a 5e D&D. If people would only make things instead of taking someone else's creation and changing it to their own...

    What RPGs genres are lacking?

Jane Austen isn't one that has well known rpgs in it. I'm not sure there's a market for it though.

    D&D 5E (2024) Fireball is a C Tier Spell

Yeah, I'd say it's over-rated these days. It started getting nerfed hard during the 3.x days, and 5e has basically nerfed it far greater.

Paramount Global and WB Discovery in merger talks

I don't get netflix, not sure why anyone pays for netflix and their prices. Doesn't seem like you get enough of a return for what it offers. Then again, I pay for Paramount+ /showtime these days so...who am I kidding (though as they said two years ago, it's the star trek man...it's the star trek!)

OSR New changes are afoot for OSRIC!

Probably because those of us who actually introduce people to the game and such find the idea of trying to change the game to something more akin to 3e as sort of offensive and infuriating. If OSRIC is to be an AD&D, it should be that, not some hybrid fantasy heartbreaker. The polls make it...

OSR New changes are afoot for OSRIC!

One of the beginning threads where they were discussing changes and things to change. It was posted in the OP some time ago. K&K thread jcboney brings up some really relavant points that I didn't see really get answered.

D&D 4E What AI thinks about 4th Edition

That's actually a really good observation regarding soccer and 4e that I had never even thought of before! I'll have to think on those parallels you bring up. Who are the controllers though, or what part do they play in futbal/soccer?

OSR New changes are afoot for OSRIC!

So, I read some REALLY BAD things about this in it's development (JCBoney basically covered a lot of reservations in the development thread on K&K). Is this some monster hybrid that is trying to win players over but isn't really 1e at all anymore, or is this actually still a 1e clone? I...

    Jeff Easley Art Book Kickstarter

@Sacrosanct and @Aellic Mornbringer , I love the pictures that you guys posted here. Love the TSR shelf and love the shelf of books you had (I have around 3x that many D&D/RPG related D&D books if you count magazines like Dungeon, Dragon, White Dwarf, etc), but I don't have the cool artwork at...

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina (2025) New Trailer

I don't mind Genisys, but probably because I can't connect it to the rest of the films. There's just no way it can happen in the same universe as any of the other films, thus it has to be it's own thing. Sort of like that separate Star Trek line they made with the new Star Trek movies (which...

Minis in a Starter Set? Preferences?

    1. Most starter sets are made for people who have already played RPGs. It can be self evident in how many of them are written and made. They go over the rules and then dump and adventure on you. This can work for someone who's played before, but for someone who has no idea what it is or...

Minis in a Starter Set? Preferences?

I believe they are referring to the Beginner Boxes that Paizo has. Excellent choices for starting into RPGs, and with the exception of the Essentials Kit, the ONLY one I actually suggest to beginners these days. Most starter sets are worthless for beginning RPG players. They are okay at...

Minis in a Starter Set? Preferences?

The Wood probably is the best one of the choices. Another option that could be good though, is what Paizo has done with cardboard standees.

From the World of John Wick: Ballerina (2025) New Trailer

Oh dear, I've seen all the John Wick movies, all the Fast and Furious movies, and unfortunately, all the Terminator Movies. (That have been released thus far).

Tipping in Great Britain (or more specifically, England).

No, I didn't. Wasn't quite sure what to do. It wasn't mandatory, it just sort of popped up when trying to pay with a CC. I didn't quite know how to react.

Tv in gaming table and general gaming table advice

Microsoft Surface is sort of like a TV. I think a large part of it dealt with the TVs of the past where it used other technology than the ones we use today. LED's and OLEDs are probably easier to have their sides than the older types of TVs where it had a lot of weight and such on the back...

Tipping in Great Britain (or more specifically, England).

So, hear me out, as this relates directly to RPGs. I recently bought a few RPG books from a company that I'm pretty certain is operated mainly from the UK, and specifically in England. I believe I know who the owners (knowing who they are and knowing them personally are two different things, I...

D&D General The Disappearance of D&D from Mainstream Retailers

In my area 3rd edition was NEVER in the big box stores or even retail stores for the most part. Even AD&D was in more retail stores than 3e was in my area of the world and where I visited. Retailers that had held the late AD&D 2e stuff (such as the now extinct Mediaplay or other locales)...

D&D 4E What is today the best way to start D&D 4E (paid and free)?

Interestingly enough, I'm not sure why everyone says Keep on the Shadowfell is a bad adventure. I ran it (admittedly, long ago when it came out) and we had a blast with the module. I've had quite a few 5e adventures that were a LOT worse than it (the original Rise of Tiamat and Hoard of the...
