Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

Similarly, Tiamat and Bahamut as deity names are not original to D&D, but their visual likenesses and characterizations are.

Dungeons & Dragons SRD 5.2 Is Officially Live

The weapons that the kids use in the 1980s cartoon are all represented in the 5.2 SRD (cloak of invisibility, energy bow, Quarterstaff of the Acrobat, Shield of the Cavalier, Hat of Many Spells, Thunderous Greatclub).

D&D 5E (2024) WotC Announces April 22 Release For 2024 System Reference Documents

The devs have strongly implied that Solasta 2 will use the new SRD & 5.5 rules to the extent that the new SRD includes them.

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

This site skews towards people who care about stuff like this, though. And even here, there's some support for AI TTRPG products. Many of us are also the sort of people who can afford not to shop at Amazon/Wal-Mart/Target, etc on moral grounds (although tons of folks here don't think twice...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

I tied myself in knots trying to answer this, due I think to the fact that my answer doesn't matter. I don't like the idea of AI-generated writing or art and my inclination is not to support it. However, it is happening, and will continue to happen, regardless of what I want. I don't think the...

D&D 5E (2024) Should the environmental conditions scale by tier?

Level Up: A5E handles this well in that the regions themselves have tiers. A particular region that is Tier 1 won't suddenly become more dangerous just because the players reach level 5, but level 5-11 characters will often find that their adventures take them into more dangerous, Tier 2 regions.

D&D General How much do you care about rule change specifics?

If I was just running one or two home campaigns for friends, we'd treat it like a salad bar and just pick and choose what rules were right for our small personal groups. And so rules changes wouldn't bother me at all, because I wouldn't be obliged to use any of them. But. As a pro GM, I run...

D&D 5E (2014) Question for folks who use D&D Beyond: How well does it work with the new rules?

Content sharing toggles in the campaign manager have zero effect on what gets shared in the character creator; this has been discussed extensively in this thread. It’s lame, but it actually does say this at the top of the content sharing area of the campaign manager. To manage sources in the...

James Wyatt On Dragon Delves' Solo Adventures

I actually do think they may be missing the boat a bit by not considering a true solo adventure product. They have consistently, for years, been among the best-selling products on DMsGuild. There is a market for them; if I was WotC, I would try one as a digital-only DNDBeyond exclusive...

D&D 5E (2024) "No magic items are necessary" vs Magic Items Awarded by Level

Anecdotally, my paladin finished Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus at Level 13. His magic items at the end of the campaign: 1 legendary item (plot-centric) 1 very rare potion (this was a potion of vitality) 2 rare weapons 1 rare wondrous item (dimensional shackles, which are nice to have but...

Until you read the text, though. That orange lady with the glasses and the candy cane? She is a neutral evil halfling who sold her brother to a hag who permanently enslaved him.

D&D General So what about the SRDs?

Fair enough. But also, so far, no classic SRDs are in CC. I'm just not giving them credit for stuff until they actually do stuff. (Also, full transparency, I personally don't care if the classic SRDs ever go into CC.)

D&D General So what about the SRDs?

This is getting too pedantic. They've made a public, clear, written commitment to release an updated SRD "within weeks" of the new Monster Manual. What I said was that if they don't, they will have reneged on that commitment. Will it be the crime of the century? No. Will they have made a public...

D&D General So what about the SRDs?

I didn't say that "WotC has broken promises to fans". I said that their recent history concerning this exact issue (SRDs) is lousy, and their past actions in this specific area create justifiable distrust from the fans with regard to the SRDs. I'm sure you do understand why that is, even if...
