Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

I'm one of the backers. I'd rather have kept Goodman Games as a company I'd be willing to do business with than get my long-lost $40 back. In some ways it's worse because the Bledshaws arguably engaged in fraud and they're being relieved of that plus got to keep the money. Because that money...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

We discussed the whole thing briefly before our game last night and nobody else knew the full story or exactly how extreme the Bledshaws are.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

If they're not reprinting the original, then a lot of the "historical preservation" stuff is really out the window. It's kind of the whole point and I think the OAR concept is pretty fantastic in theory. You get the original. There's a lot of essays that give you context about why this was...

This. Also, if this follows the same format and I assume it will, there's a full reprint of the original and a bunch of commentary as well as the adapted updated version. And I would be all over this. Except for the nazi thing. I can't do that.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

Didn't the refund thing through Goodman happen after a week of Goodman getting shellacked by criticisms? Before then, it was going to the Bledshaws. And yeah, they said they would use the money for refunds, but they said that before Tegel Manor as well and did not follow through.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

The thing is that they supposedly signed this confidential agreement after doing business with the Bledshaws had already gotten them into trouble with their customers (and everyone else decent). Why would they ever agree to sign something that would leave them unable to defend themselves after...

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

That's the Bledshaws. Concerning Judges Guild look at the Facebook post by Bledshaw. He's some kind of Identity Christian. This is stuff that was out before GG started this project in 2022.

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

Oh the make money. If you want to make money find another business than TTRPGs. "Oh yeah after that blowup with 'Eisenhower and Truman being secret Jews, but Jesus was a gentile and the Jews stole the Bible from white people' we thought it would be a great idea to sign contracts with...

Judges Guild Makes Statement About Goodman Controversy [Updated]

Provided this is accurate, it means that when the Caverns of Thracia was being funded, JG was already remitting money to the Bledshaws while those of us who backed it believed that any royalties would be going to charity. Depending on when in 2022 he decided to give the donations, it's possible...

eBook Prices - Is it just me…

You're going to see a marked decrease in the number of writers publishing if we're not compensated. And what you get isn't going to be very good without editors.

Ah, but it doesn't matter. It still comes in the new format and can't be converted easily. Effectively, they took away the authors ability to sell drm-free books.

Transferring it to your PC was never meant to be a backup. It was so you could then transfer the book to your own kindle and was a relic from the early years of Kindle when wifi was not ubiquitous as it is today. (The same reason early kindles all had cellular built in.) The downloaded copy had...

Goodman Games Revives Relationship With Anti-Semitic Publisher For New City State Kickstarter [UPDATED]

They have not clarified and IMHO some of their statements have been written in a manner that sort of kind of implies they had a contract but thus far, all of these statements have very carefully not stated directly that there was any contract or obligation. And while many many people have asked...

It's not the art or the artist. That's a distraction. It's about money flowing to the confirmed nazi.

What does it take for an RPG to die?

Nope, Knights And Berserkers And Legerdemain. A game with absolutely nothing to recommend it that's been out of print for 40 years. I am not sure if that or the two Islandia scenarios by The Companions are the rarest things I own.

And this thought has left me pondering when the last game of KABAL was played.

Of such questions are holy wars fought. Some think OSR is only d20 clones. Others would include Mork or Dragonbane. Despite being D20 some would exclude DCC or Shadowdark. The term NSR seems to have been coined partially to defuse the question for OSR adjacent.
