    It's true until it isn't. Climb (Athletics) for example would be heavily reliant on rope and pitons. Medicine is heavily reliant on medical supplies. Survival would use fishing lures, etc to survive.

    You want to give a -2 to hit without calculating the implications of hit.. what... New numbers with -2 to hit: TWF is behind GWM by 41 to 66 at 20. With Rend and without -5/+10 Fighter TWF is 48 vs 58 at 20. That wouldn't solve anything - just make it worse.

    100% agreed. Just because some throwaway skills are the default option doesn't mean the default option is good. To clarify what I posted: the tools/skills are rolled into the other skill. That other tool/skill ceases to exist.

    For War Caster it should really apply to all classes if you do EK. I feel iffy on that one. It would seem to just negate somatic components entirely. But it does feel like a tax.

    @Xev I saw a mention of making TWF not cost a bonus action in the other thread. It's a decent idea to boost Fighter and Ranger TWF. Though TWF would still need a boost at 11 from either Rend or second bonus attack.

    Magic items aren't impossible to calculate for - they're quite easy. For example you can add '1' in the hit and damage rows of each build. I, personally, do not recommend using +X magic items. I just remove the +X part and keep the rest.

    GWM is there under Primary Melee. Polearm is a common option. Polearm uses 1 feat. It can use two to get Polearm + GWM. Every good option uses a feat.

    Yes, it does. See GWF Paladin Reroll 1s & 2s on Divine Smite? I was against it. I was wrong. Without it applying on additional dice Defensive Fighting Style is much better for Paladin and Battle Master.
