    D&D 5E (2014) Blees Still Broken/OP?

Yeah, just let the blees fly back to the hive.

D&D 5E (2014) Do you want your DM to fudge?

The answer to this would be to not originally plan anything.

    D&D 5E (2014) Scabbard of... Silence?

I haven't read the replies, but I find the idea of a scabbard of silence simply a great idea. It's like putting duct tape on a loud talker's mouth. But... imagine how frustrated this loud talker would be when it's finally free to talk... I would have the sword show some dirty language when it is...

D&D 5E (2014) Do you want your DM to fudge?

In the Do you Fudge poll on Enworld, 4 out of 5 DMs admit to fudging rolls at least sometimes. Before you answer the question, please try not to consider how you play as a DM. Just think about you being a player at a gaming table, and about your or a random DM that rolls a die behind that...

Flanking normally requires to be adjacent.

What's a good plot reason to grant the players psionic powers?

You perhaps mean "what a good reason to grant player characters psionic power?" Because I'm sorry to break the news to you, but even as DM player brains are pretty much out of your reach. Or so they say...

D&D 5E (2014) Enhancing "Hoard of the Dragon Queen" (Practical stuff to try at your table!)

Man for some reason I feel compelled to take a plane to whatever country under war, and take on the entire army by myself, just now. Goodbye Enworld, it's been a blast, now I'm out to save the world! Singlehandedly!

One word on optimizing exploration: Ten-foot pole baby! Okay, that was three words. Or four.

    D&D 5E (2014) I think I'm in trouble

Go go go man! D&D is about fun and storytelling. The rules, the story, all that you can make up as you go along. As long as you give the impression of fairness, everyone will be happy. Here are a few tips: don't bother about the rules too much. Just know the basics. The rules you don't know...

    D&D 5E (2014) rapier+dagger and/or longsword+dagger?

That would be "main gauche". "Main" in French means "hand". And "gauche" means "left". So main gauche means left hand. As in... well, you get it.

    D&D 5E (2014) Fluffs or Feats? Your re-skinning thread

I've reskinned races entirely in my campaign, to swap all non-human races for alternate human types. Yes, all are human, with the same speed (30'). They are - basic humans (that have a specific race name) that are the humans from the PHB, they are the settlers that recently (less than 1000...

D&D 5E (2014) How would you make a character who uses a shield like Captain America?

I would build a class around it altogether. Give him the shield from the outset. The class is entirely based on that for combat. A few ideas for class design: - Base the class on the fighter class. - replace fighter manoeuvers with shield manoeuvers. - replace feats with more shield...

    D&D 5E (2014) Armor: damage reduction

By the way, thanks for the replies everyone. Again, many very constructive posts in response to my inquiry on this board. You can keep'em coming :)

    D&D 5E (2014) Armor: damage reduction

This is a very interesting houserule. I'm a fan of rolling dice, but were I to consider flat HPs, I would certainly use this. Yes, indeed. DR would make using small weapons less of an interesting option vs. armored oppponents. Something to think about.

    D&D 5E (2014) Armor: damage reduction

Diamabel: yes, I've been considering the non-armor bonuses: Monks: I'll give them a flat +1 AC, no damage reduction. Barbarians: I'll allow them to re-roll 1-2 once on their d12 for hit points when they level up. This is a small compensation, but then again barbarians do have the choice to don...

    D&D 5E (2014) Armor: damage reduction

Relevant question. I'll let those that play in campaigns with dwarves answer the question :) I've designed my own human subraces that are mechanically similar to those of the PHB, but where all have the same speed (except one race that is 5' faster), and next to none has darkvision because...

    D&D 5E (2014) Armor: damage reduction

Thanks for the responses up to now. 1) I should note that my intended campaign level will be 5-10, so while comments are welcome towards this potential houserule for all levels, I'm more interested in the effect in that level range. 2) I only mention what's different from the PHB. Gadget...

D&D 5E (2014) To fudge or not to fudge: that is the question

I like the following warning under this particular poll question: "Be advised that this is a public poll: other users can see the choice(s) you selected." Read: if you admit to fudging, your players will know.

    D&D 5E (2014) Alternative Dying System

You are presumably aware that this means that more or less 1 time out of 5, a PC who is knocked unconscious will die instantly, without possibility of healing. At low level, when hit point maximum is low and spells that bring PCs back from the dead are difficult to come by, this means more...
