    D&D 5E (2024) One Store's Sales (D&D 2014 & 2024)

Not to get all data sciency on you (I actually play a data scientist during business hours). The percentages, I think, can be misleading because they're total products and there are a lot more adventures than core products. Off the top of my head, dividing by the number of unique products might...

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

The 2025 MM has a lot of monsters not in the SRD or in previous books that already are being referenced in new adventure books. It's not hard to find a replacement, though. Forge of Foes has you covered =)

Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun - First Impressions

I think we each get to decide if they work for us but none of us can speak for all the others. See my post about the “not good for new GMs” strawman: Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun - First Impressions The whole idea that I’m some whiz GM is also folly. I consider myself firmly in the...

Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun - First Impressions

Yeah, for me, the only thing I balk at is the price when these two books feel like one big book to me. But I'm so much happier with these than I was with Spelljammer, Planescape, and Dragonlance. These books I can keep on my shelf and use for 20 years.

Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun - First Impressions

I think that's a solid way to critique any sort of adventure like this. Is it something you could come up with easier than they could. But we also can't expect miracles for 400 words. Sometimes pushing me in a direction gives me help. Sometimes I just don't want to have to think about what sort...

D&D General Poll: How many Role Playing Games do you play besides D&D?

Recently: D&D 2024 Level Up Advanced 5e Tales of the Valiant Dragonbane Pirate Borg Shadowdark Shadow of the Weird Wizard Others in the past few years: Numenera Blades in the Dark Other noteworthy ones from a while back but within 10 years: 13th Age Shadow of the Demon Lord

Which new RPG Book(s) would like to see in 2026?

I really hope he puts that under some type of open license.

Forgotten Realms: Adventures in Faerun - First Impressions

I don't think its just the OSR community. I see it a lot in the 5e spaces too. There's this idea of it not working for "new GMs" whoever that is. Maybe it works for you or it doesn't but I don't think we can rightfully say whether something does or does not work for new GMs unless we actually...

Which new RPG Book(s) would like to see in 2026?

There's so much awesome stuff coming out all the time that I don't have any real desire for something specific. I'm happy to be surprised!

Best D&D Novels- Of All TIme

I really like the Crystal Shard. So much happens in that book! Two wars, a fight with a dragon, evil wizards. There's just a lot going on in that little 300 page book. I read it when I was 14 and loved it and then read it maybe ten years or so ago and enjoyed it. I know parts of it don't hold up...

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's dream up new FR-style books for other Settings.

Yeah. I love that book. It was on sale for like $12 on Amazon and I bought two just so I could give them away.

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's dream up new FR-style books for other Settings.

I’m much happier with the format of the two new FR books than I am with the 5e books and boxed sets of Planescape, Spelljammer, and Dragonlance. I don’t expect WOTC to go back to those anytime soon but who knows, they don’t seem to let go of Icewind Dale and Baldurs Gate! The format of two...

Forgotten Realms: Heroes of Faerun - First Impressions

Yeah. One thing I don’t mention is how much I prefer the format and focus of the Forgotten Realms books to the recent Planescape, Spelljammer, and Dragonlance books and boxed sets. The FR books are so much more usable to build multiple long-term campaigns than the others.

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

About 30 minutes to an hour per three hour game.

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

4e kinda did that but then they got greedy with other stuff and we still had insurmountable games to manage. Right now I'm running a 19th level game, soon to be 20th level, and it's been pretty manageable. I just give less of a crap about monsters and balance and other things and dish out a ton...

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

Many D&D-like RPGs have gone down to 10 levels. Shadowdark, 13th Age, Shadow of the Demon Lord, Shadow of the Weird Wizard, and Daggerheart. Numenera goes to 6 (ish, you have sub-levels). So I think that's the common approach these days.

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

There are three high-level campaign paths in City of Arches, two of which go to 20th level.

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

Given how many people homebrew their games anyway and still don't reach high levels, I don't think this is a chicken and egg thing. I think most games don't reach high levels period. It's not because there aren't published high-level adventures (and there are a lot of them from other...

D&D General Adventurers in Faerun-The Book of Low and Mid Level Adventures?

Vecna Eve of Ruin is high level but I don't hear a lot of people talking about it.
