No, it 'locks' you into an attack action... For example you can't bash and dash, or bash and cast a spell... Think of it as 'part' of the attack action...not something that happens because of the attack action.

for a lot of players it's not an option.. I know a group of old friends all over the US that play together, and have for years... they only play at the same table at GenCon. the more people play, in every way.. the better it is for the game
